Chicken pox prophylactic

Post by Aglika Ivanova »

Dear all,

my 11-month old baby was exposed to a child with chicken pox last Friday. Should I just wait and watch for symptoms or should I start homeopathic prophylactic?

My baby has never been vaccinated and is still breastfed.

Thank you!

Best regards,

Aglika & baby Damian

Chicken pox is not a serious disease and it is good of she gets it and lets her immune system learn how to cure a disease. Prophylactics are not needed. If she gets the disease and only if it is uncomfortable to her does it need treating with a homeopathic remedy.

If you have had chickenpox yourself as you are breast feeding you would pass your antibodies on to the child.

Personally I wouldn't do anything................your child has to be susceptible to even get it.
And chickenpox is not something to fear.

What is needed to be susceptible to chicken pox?
What is the homeopathic prohylactic for chicken pox?

I have not seen it personally, but have heard about chicken pox erupting on the retina and causing blindness. It is almost hearsay, but I thought I would make you aware of the possibility.

Varicellinum is No.1.
Others are:
Pulsatilla, Antimonium Crudum, Antimonium Tartaricum, Rhus Toxicodendron.

Thank you all for responding. I am not sure I had it as a child, nor that I acquired a chronic form of it via vaccines, so I am uncertain if I have passed any antibodies to my baby.

At any rate, it must be best to wait and watch, chances are slim he will come down with it.

I will keep you posted.

All the best,

Aglika & Damian

As a prophylactic, how would you chose which remedy to give a child?
Do you do it on the basis of an epidemic picture? What if there is no
epidemic ongoing?

And if he does come down with it, it is normally not a big deal. A few days of itching, some crankiness, and then done. I exposed my own two on purpose (and yes it worked with both), so we would not have to worry about it later, and I would definitely do the same again if I had it to do over.
