I am told, Boenninghausen, Jahr,Julius Aegidi and Arthur Lutze(all Hahnemann's contemporaries), experimented and used multiple remedies and Arthur Lutze wrote about it in'Lehrbuch de Homopathie'. It is said Hahnemann contemplated rewriting Aph 274 but never got around to it.
Maybe someone can enlighten me on this.

I have recommended David Little's course archives before and I will do so again: if you are studying homeopathy, or even a qualified homeopath, David Little's course archives are invaluable and massively under priced for such excellent work. They answer many questions regarding Hahnemann's work and give a far clearer understanding of why the one remedy approach is so important, as well as giving a clear understanding of the use of LM potencies and case management. If you read through his website you will also gain much useful information.
