""Firstly there is no room on this list for speculative psycho babble as per the mission statement."' Rik

Well I have mentioned before when these interminable unproductive disputes are in progress that Homeopathy is an energy medicine and that to my mind allows for practitioner's intuitive input. I have had this mother who is very burdened talking care of 2 young children, feels something not right about herself, often fearful of going out, was not well nurtured [ I had tried some of the other Lacs ] as a child, picks her lips incessantly, while obviously stressed and struggling adopts a nonchalant attitude. The 9 month child will not settle to sleep. Has to be near Mother's face. Loves to touch Mother and be touched. Loves smacking noises near her face. I have tried so hard to address the problems. The other day I held the child while the Mother used my toilet. I brought her to the room looking out on the garden and a cat which infrequently appears was there. The child was enchanted. It came flooding back to me how the grandmother loved her cats. I explored Lac Felinum in Reference works and there was the remedy.
Things are improving some unimportant aggravations but Mother who is homoeopathically aware ,thank goodness as would not have stuck with me otherwise ,sent this
I thought this part of the link interesting
I think it's definitely true that in some cases this behaviour becomes a habit - it's a bit like nail biting in humans. It's often stress or boredom related, and unfortunately some cats get stressed / bored really easily - i.e. they have a lovely home and nothing to worry about, but they still get wound up and display this behaviour as a result.
I knew cats could display this behaviour, relentless biting, licking or skin, often due to stress so I just looked it up quickly.
Also if you recall, my fear of just about anything outside the house, scared of sitting in my backyard, walking outdoors, going on holidays. Thinking that something bad is going to happen, xxxx and I just went on a lovely walk and there was no anxiety at all for me.
It has taken a while to get to the bottom of this, how funny that it came about in such a way. I think there will be lots of changes become apparent over the coming months. Im still waiting for something to prove this wrong, but I cant ignore that I have not picked my lips for 4 days.

4 days later
I am actually more patient with the kids. I can handle both of them together
better, and do the chores as well without getting overwhelmed.

:
I do not think would have got this except by some sort of help from the universe. Maybe I should have but we all have limitationsthink
I do hate this vilifying of people. How can we be healers with such rigidity of ideas.
There! I have said what I think.
Joy contributed greatly and is a big loss. I miss Hahnemannian and Rosemary and Robyn Some of the others who criticise so much contribute little.
I will move on , Jean

Jean

I love your line, a great quote, pertains to all of us in homeopathy and those that have different views and similar views....that is we are humans first, so lets all get along and push homeopathy to the front of the line not our own personality limitations and dogma. an open mind reveals natures truth.

my two cents worth

I don't think criticism is a bad thing but would rather see it take the form of debate (within the parameters of what this list is about) rather than attacks on people.

I too think it is much easier to criticise than contribute. And criticisms from theory only have yet to be tested.

I use the more traditional name of remedy as that speaks much more about what homoeopathy does - it 'remedies' a symptom or a state of ill-health rather than 'medicating' it with a medicine which implies some sort or imposed control of symptoms.

The word 'remedy' also creates a difference for those who don't know that homeopathy has a different mode and basis of action to allopathy. When remedies are called medicines, people assume that they similar to conventional medicines. They expect them to work the same and for treatment to be the same. Indicating there is a difference from the outset through a different name makes the process easier for them as well as us.

On top of this, the use of the word 'medicine' by homoeopaths has significantly contributed to the recent opposition homoeopathy has experienced - in an effort to appear more scientific and prestigious (stupid, I know) we have tried to adopt their terminology and so have insert ourselves directly into their face causing considerable irritation and anger in the process.

Kind regards, Fran.

I'm opting in to the Organon discussion so please keep them going.

Just can't post as often as I would like.

Hello Fran,
I couldn't agree more. But what is legitimate criticism for some is a an "attack" by others. This list has a number of people who have issues with simply operating under the parameters of the mission statement and understanding the relevance of peer review. Most of what happens here is debate and dialogue.
But as we both know there is a tendency to drive away the those who might not be so easily swayed via the incessant badgering and the arguing for the shelving of old stuffy un-sexy Homeopathy and replace it with polytheistic everything goes prescribing.

Best regards,
Rik

Good morning Rik and Thank You so much for your reply to my post. I was so afraid I wouldn't hear from you. Cheerful and sweet as ever .

Speculative psycho babble. Re-invented homeopathy. Still unable to read a post correctly I see. BTW, I am not nor have ever been on this list for your pithy comments. They fail to teach or inspire.

Bored. Not really and only by you.

You have however, provided me with the needed push to leave the list despite being on it since 2000 or 2001. I would like to thank everyone who has increased my knowledge, Joy, Rosemary, Soroush, Sheri, Fran Jean, Shannon, Tanya, Vera, Simon,Rochelle, the list goes on. Without the discussions here I would never have learned about LM's or water potency or many remedies (at least until needed to give them). So many thanks and well wishes for all of you.

Sue Boyle RN HMC (HNA president )

PS you have lost your edge Rik I actually laughed at your post.

If you both go to Yahoo Groups and put Homeopathy in the search option you will find lots of homeopathy groups that let you discuss all and anything.
