scaly skin

Post by Pauline »

The other rubric I would like guidance with is for a patient of mine who has had trench foot – skin cracking weeping bleeding and scaling and desquamating around feet, soles and sock area – but also has fine scales over a lot of the body with a fine red rash under it and is itchy but the scales come off in great proportions – he calls it the ‘snow storm’ when he takes his shirt off.

I have looked under scales, scaly, desquamation etc etc but other than going for the 4 and 5 markers nothing seems to convey the ‘snow storm’ of scales or the fineness of the scales – ie very small.
Have used Arsenicum with some success with him but this was from my college days where I was taught that in psoriasis (this guys rash made me think of psoriasis) ars alb small scales and ars iod larger scales? But couldn’t find this in any of the reps either?? Plus ars alb fitted other ways but the whole scales thing has eluded me in reps for a while and love some sharing of remedies cases and rubrics that could shed the light a little on clinical usages in these type of cases
Many thanks in advance regards Pauline
