Mis-information about Arizona's homeopathy bill

Post by Dana Ullman, MPH »

Friends,

I previously expressed concern about some mis-information that was spread on the Arizona homeopathy bill...and I incorrectly said that this information was coming from the "National Health Federation." THAT was incorrect. The mis-information was coming from the National Health Freedom Coalition (NHFC).

The NHFC has previously been informed that this bill would not stop ANYONE from practicing homeopathy and/or nutrition, and yet, they have continued to assert otherwise. I'm pleased to tell people that the Arizona bill is a good one that has significant support from all of the key players in Arizona.

All pertinent documents can be found at http://www.azleg.gov/DocumentsForBill.a ... ion_ID=102.
1. The version that came out of the senate one month ago can be found at http://www.azleg.gov//FormatDocument.as ... ion_ID=102.
2. This version was amended by the house health committee on 3/16/2011. This can be found at http://www.azleg.gov//FormatDocument.as ... ion_ID=102. It is listed on the web site as an adopted amendment to the Bill at http://www.azleg.gov/DocumentsForBill.a ... ion_ID=102. The hearing where this was adopted as an amendment by the house health committee can be watched at http://azleg.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.p ... ip_id=8849.
