It does seem to me that this (below) is probably true. I remember someone
(Kimberley? Shannon?) saying she drank a glass of her husbans's ars, which
was on the bedside table, and which I assume he was supposed to sip at
intervals. She cleaned the whole house the next day. If a glassful was a
lot stronger than a sip, it seems to me she would have died of an overdose.

say is if you take "Aconite 30" in about 25gm qty. at one time and the same
in qty. wise 3 or 4 pills rather than 25 gm qty. it has the same effect as
in homoeopathy there is no material/quantitative dose except in lower
triturations and mother tinctures where quantitative dose makes a BIG
DIFFERENCE.
The same rule is applicable to the dose when it is mixed in water. So far
repetition of dose is concerned it entirely depends on the situation of the
case and the personal experience of the attending physician.

Re: size of dose
Hi Margaret,
One key concept is that individual sensitivity varies (according to
Hahnemann, and more-or-less agreed by others who've
nvestigated) -according to a 1:1000 scale.
In the example you allude to, the size of the dose in the glass is far less
than even one pill, as the remedy solution is made by putting one pill in
4oz of water, then SUCCUSSING before taking one teaspoon (up to 1 tbsp on
occasion) into "dilution glass" .. then taking (normally) one teaspoon
from glass, and THROWING AWAY the rest, with future doses as needed prepared
in the same manner. The use of sips from a glass is not the recommended
means of repeating the dose, as it neglects one of the IMPORTANT facets of
the adjustability of Hahnemann's "liquid posology." More than likely,
except in someone highly sensitive, repeat sips will have a "placebo" effect
as compared to the effect of the slightly "heightened" energy/potency of the
proper method of SUCCUSSING each time before re-dose.
From the moment I learned of this method, it made clear and perfect sense.
I am at a loss to understand how it seems to elude people who've had a year
and more exposure to the idea in innumerable emails. Perhaps it is one of
those things where some people learn better by hearing than reading? (try
reading out loud?
(or maybe a study group?)
If anyone has any interest at all in understanding this, it is reasonably
clearly laid out on David Little's website, in the CASE MANAGEMENT section
http://www.simillimum.com/Thelittlelibrary.html
and I'm fairly sure he will be happy to explain any points which I've failed
to communicate in my attempts to pass this on.... and I also will be happy
to continue to attempt to explain / answer questions to the best of my
ability & understanding.
Adjusting the Size of the Dose
http://www.simillimum.com/Thelittlelibr ... mount.html
"The are several places in Hahnemann's writings which refer to the gradual
increase of the size of the dose by increasing the number of teaspoon
administered of the solution. The size of the dose is one major aspect of
adjusting the dose. Those who still think that it makes no difference
whether one gives 1 or 1000 pills my find some of this information new. I
would request that experience Homeopaths test Hahnemann's assertions about
the dose by putting this new posology method through trails in the field.
Students should be taught correctly right from the start under the guidance
of one experienced in these methods."

Re: size of dose
Hi all,
I went to a top classical homeopath recently (I'm fortunate to live near
where he practices), and he gave me a remedy with a dosage direction of10
pillules repeated 3x in 24 hours, wait and watch. With my first dose, I had
a bad reaction. So being me, I antidoted with coffee and started over, using
1 pillule, then 3, then 6 over 24 hours. Now the rem is working beautifully.
All this is to say that, at least in this one case, the size of the dose
mattered.
Best, Margaret
