The earthquake did hit the Christchurch on the South Island..... No idea so far what happened to our collogues locally as there is no communication yet, hopefully later today. Lots of devastation and too may deaths, 400 unconfirmed so far and all the reconstruction that went on since last one is gone, plus additional destruction, all the older buildings all the history is gone...........
North Island (where I live) untouched physically, morally we all feel the pain.

The Kiwi earthquake is on Japanese TV everyday. I think we live on the same crack so the devestation feels very close. When I heard the news the first thing I thought of was you. My prayers are with you.
