Re: Cancer patient bleeding after carbo-an
Hi All
I have been very quiet on this list for a few years, but wonderid if anyone had had simillar experiences to this.
I am treating a patient with cervical cancer who bleeds after taking Carbo An 30c.
No bleeding before the carbo-an, has had carc, aur-mur-nat, scirrhinum previously generally 30c given in 11 teaspoons of water plussed. As in Ramakrishnans method, but using 30c not 200c or 1M as 30 muscle tested better.
No real bleeding before switching to carbo an, just occasional mild discharge.
Bleeding started soon after changing to carbo an. now the bleeding is noticeably worse when taking carbo an, less or stops when she stops or takes a different remedy. Any thoughts or comments?

Here is a thought:
When we see this type of condition, I think it normal that we get concerned and see the problem
as a negative.
However, the situation may require a different understanding such as 'is this the body's way of
discharging a problem?' Perhaps the body is riddign itself of old, toxified blood?
Just a thought to stimulate.

Are there any other changes noted after she takes carbo-an, physical or other?

Re: Cancer patient bleeding after carbo-an
Hi All thanks for the replies.
I must admit that I considerecd the bleedng to be a very good sign, but of course it is not me that is bleeding.
She is understandably less keen on the situation and asked if I could ask another homeopath for an opinion, so I thought I would ask 3,000 of you.
I looks to me as if the remedy is acting directly on the tumor in some way hopefully flushing the tumor away. Maybe very wishful thinking but at least something is happening down there.
She has been in and out of hospital 3 times now because of the bleeding
but up until the last time blood tests have not shown any aneamia or anything.Thist time they have given her some iron tablet so perhaps they consider her slightly aneimic, or maybe just a precaution as they would see it. They also gave her antcoagulants !! as they were woried about blood clots due to being in hospital bed. I am sure they helped the bleeding a lot.
symptom wise, she says the carbo an is not helping the pain, but she complains about the pain much more when not taking it. More ferarful and needy, but that is probably the fear of bleeding to death (she lives alone) Rings me at silly times even while in hospital!
Crot H is a good suggestion, have muscle tested that and Lachesis a few weeks ago ( She could talk the d*** of a donkey!
) I am a big believer in muscle tests which is another reason I keep returning to Carbo An, it tests so positive.
Will definately test Crot H again next time I see her as with the bleeding the sittuation has changed. May need alternating with CA, or if it muscle tests well together, possibly in combination (That will bring a few more replies if certain people have read this far
)

Re: Cancer patient bleeding after carbo-an
Hi Jeremy,
The bleeding would only be a "good sign" if other characteristics improved. being more needy and fearful is not a good sign.
Losing blood = losing vital force = weakening the patient = same ill effects as blood letting = read Organon about the negative effects of that. If you lose enough VF - you die. At very least it hinders recuperation and starves the rest of the body of healing ability.
Be especially wary of dosing and bleeding if she is on anticoagulants, because the agg will be intensified.
I have seen suggestions of other remedies, Crot H etc. But where is the case? On what basis are homeopaths making suggestions for a patient with severe pathology? And then to prescribe based on a muscle test?
If you are wanting to get a second opinion, this patient needs an experienced classical homeopath who should then take their own case and then come up with a treatment protocol. Anything else is unproffesional and could prove harmful to the patient. One cannot assess progress on statements such as " It looks like the remedy is acting on the tumor" or "wishful thinking", and the simillimum will probably not be found by playing trivial pursuit on the list.
(Sigh - the backlash will come),
Regards,
Paul

Re: Cancer patient bleeding after carbo-an
I would be very concerned with anything they do or give in the hospital or medical industry.
She should provide you with the blood data and the reasons the hospital gave her for taking iron.
If she is not an assertive type on her own behalf, have her sign a release form so they hospital can
talk to you directly. You will have to find out from the hospital what they need. They might have a
particular form they want her to fill out and sign.
I wanted to look something up for you, but don't have the time right now. It had to do with bleeding
and uterine tumors. Perhaps you can do a search for this connection. I would want to know what is
normative and/or pathological so when things like this occur you might have a better understanding
on what is happening.

I see the fear and neediness as part of her natural character and hence a fairly natural reaction for her when she is bleeding, living alone and IMO fearful of death. I do not think the bleeding is particularly severe or else the medics would not risk sending her home and would hopefully not risk anticoagulants. A little blood makes a big mess IMO.
I am not really asking for help choosing remedies and do not have time to write up the whole case, justify my prescriptions or take part in a discussion on prescribing strategies (though I am not so arrogant that I will not look at suggested remedies). I just wondered if anyone else with real practical experience of treating cancer had seen anything simillar.
Thanks anyway

Re: Cancer patient bleeding after carbo-an
This is a tricky situation to be in.
It could be good sign or a bad prognosis. Look at the patient as a
whole, if she is feeling generally better with the bleeding then
Carb-an is doing her good. If her general condition and mental state
are getting worse you may need to change the remedy.
Best regards
Elham
