First I post a question about case analysis and then after getting some feedback will send the answer for further discussion. The first question is already posted.

Yes I know about this group and I made a comment on a thread BUT

1) There is nowhere to actually join the group because it is a Public group

2) I don’t get notifications when someone has added to a thread where I have commented so I tend to forget about it!!

Hi Rochelle,
Having coherent discussions is important to me. Particularily when ideas are new.
On Facebook it is hard to keep up with a thread since people say different things when you are not looking. I have been following Roger's discussions, but nothing seems to get very well discussed. Pretty soon you lose track. These short comments on Facebook are particularily hard for me to follow. I can't figure out what people are saying and then they do not come back to finish the discussion. It feels like a drunken cocktail party to me.
I don't know how to solve this problem. Actually email seems better because there is room to completely express yourself. But the record gets very mixed up. Also, the topic gets lost.
I am hoping that the HomeopathyWorldCommunity will be a bit better. Not sure.

Why not just start a separate yahoo group specificially for these discussions? People have the choice of having emails sent directly to them or they can look on the web. If it was just specifically for Ardavan's info it wouldn't get hijacked by other topics.

Hi Kerry,
If the discussions were an email group, then how would people know that this is happening? It's a thought though. No matter where you do it, people need to find it themselves. The thing is he does not have a lot of time to devote to this. I am not sure he could handle long emails. Also, he is really the authority on this subject. It would be hard for others to just lead the discussion. I appreciate your imput. I hadn't thought of that, but it is a possibility. The problem is, I think people need to see the problem that he presents and then go from there. He will present a problem and that will be discussed. A simple title for an email will not be enough. There is always some question with some deep answer behind it. It is not always very obvious or something that you can just figure out by thinking about it for five minutes. He has put years into thinking about these topics.

Hi Ellen

Won't many of these issues apply though wherever the discussions take place? Could people not be asked to reply as briefly as possible just bringing the most important points out rather than long emails? I have looked at many different formats on the web and I still find Yahoo the easiest to follow, as everything that is posted automatically comes through if you are subscribed to email. As for face book, I just can't get my head around the format and find it very time consuming - perhaps I too am getting old! With regards titles for the emails, could you not at the beginning of each week or month send out an email giving details of coming subjects with a number heading i.e. Subject 1 - discussion of chronic case of migraine and case analysis. Then each email on that topic would just be Subject 1. I know it would take a bit more organising in advance but would make it more coherent. You could also post the monthly or weekly up and coming discussions to places like Minutus to advertise the group and let people know to join if they are interested.

Would a big advantage of Facebook be that it is assessable to the masses {is this so.? Those who use it might know ] ] and therefore maybe be a way of promoting homeopathy, Jean

Depends on how you set up your site Jean, there are several possibilities to chose. Open for everybody, only to friends, family etc.

Since I, for example, devote my fb site only to homeopathy it is open, nothing to hide. All can be shared. I must say no remarks from people trying to obstruct. That said: maybe they are coming now.

Yes, Kerry. I am as old as you apparently. I feel exactly the same about facebook. We are getting good feed back from the owner of HomeopathyCommunityWorld.com and I am thinking of using the good communication capacity of email along with the excellent record keeping and search facilities of HCW. Also, lectures, pictures of screen shots etc will be available. So the communication will be closer to a traditional classroom in that there is a stable text that everyone can access easily. Still it will have the commenting facilities of Facebook or email so we will be able to interact with the teacher, Dr. Shahrdrar.
On the email side, I am trying to think how the interactions by email could be enhanced so that the classroom also includes in-depth interactions among students. Perhaps senior students could act as leaders and make sure that everyone is understanding "homework." They would provide this help over email. I am thinking of individual students posting their repping of cases. Perhaps for graduation, each student would be required to post so many repped cases along with analysis. Nothing like public appearance to get us to do our best. What do you think about this? Is it too much?

Could I have a homeopathy Facebook site separate from my personal family site? I hate the mixture that I have. It just does not make sense.
