Re: Concerns about potency
I'm only using Boiron purple tubes. The 200 are C, the 1M are CK. I also have my constitutional in 200C Dunham grafted.
I wasn't aggravating on the 1M at first dose, just didn't feel any postive benefit as I do with the 200C. Repeating the 1M every 2 weeks for a month did cause aggravations.
Would like to try your F series at some point, hopefully the pharmacy now has all the antipsorics prepared. At least to avoid stirring a 200C upto 500 times and the LM prep.
Whatever potency/dosage/frequency, my experience has been and is that the vital force needs constant challenge with chronic miasms.. Repeating the same remedy only works for so long and each repetition does not always provide desired and similar results. This may be part of the curing process.
It's change/chaos that works best, as long as you can manage the inevitable aggravations, etc.
This may be one reason Kent discovered/tried the trio Lyc-Sulph-Calc and it is mentioned in Boericke's as repeating it in cycle(s), meaning more than once. I think Sulph is important to use at some point in chronic miasmatic treatment as an intercurrent. Personally, I received benefit from most of the antipsorics I've taken even if for one rubric here and there and the whole topic of complementary remedies should be looked at more in depth. I'm surprised how well some remedies helped which in repping by the score numbers would be discounted.

Susan,
Thank you for your thoughts.
Could you tell me more about how to vary the potency?
Thank you.

Re: Concerns about potency
Most of the more common remedies are now available in F series from the Simillimum Pharmacy in Wellington (orders@arnica.co.nz ) with the nosodes generally starting at 8C (disclaimer: I do NOT have any financial interest in the pharmacy.....unfortunately.....).

Re: Concerns about potency
I have taken this case again. Puls still comes up overwhelmingly as #1. It is followed by phos and then sulph. Phos and sulph match the physical symptoms quite closely as well, but do not match the mental/emotional as closely as Puls.
This is what I know.
1. When we first started 2 months ago, Puls had no effect at 30 C or 200C. Puls 1 M resulted in improvements in mind, behavior, and the chronic hemorrhoids, as well as other more peripheral symptoms.
2. The pain level for chronic hemorrhoids was at an 8 for 1 year. After Puls 1 M, it fell to 2, but leveled off and did not go down further.
3. If she stops taking Puls, the pain comes back at an 8. So it doesn’t look curative.
I just tried Silicea, which I understood to be a chronic of Puls. It seems to be helpful emotionally as well, but the pain is unaffected. My friend’s priority is to decrease this pain, understandably.
Should I try Puls in a lower potency again? Or move on to trying Phos?
Thanks for any and all ideas.
Dr. R, I would love to try the F series. You make very compelling arguments about it. But how can we get it? Do you sell 100 remedy kits in F series potencies? That would be ideal, but I wouldn’t know if I could afford it. : )

You can order the F series of Pulsatilla from 3C to 233C from the Simillimum Pharmacy in Wellington (orders@arnica.co.nz ), you will be surprised at the not very high cost.
I personally do not sell "stuff"............

Re: Concerns about potency
You're right, Helen; it doesn't look curative. To be sure about eliminating Puls. as being suitable at present, it wouldn't hurt to try it in a lower potency, as long as you use it as a test dose rather than pummel her with it!
But you may find that if you give a lower priority to repertory scores than to her more characteristic symptoms, one of the lower-scoring medicines comes to look like a good possibility. Repertories are useful, but they're no substitute for materia medica.
Cheers --

Re: Concerns about potency
Helen,
I have to agree with John on this: it sounds as if Pulsatilla is only palliating. Having no idea of what this woman's M/E are, I'd suggest you look at smaller remedies that cover her hemorrhoids but also have M/E similar to Pulsatilla. And, as John suggested, focus on the materia medica for the remedies you're considering rather than relying on your repertorization. It's just too easy to come up with polychrests on a repertorization and often hard to find the true simillimum.
Peace,
Dale
