Dissimilar agg or healing crisis?

Hi All

How do you tell the difference between a dissimilar aggravation and a healing crisis (skin eruption, discharge)?

Do these aggs show up the same or differently in cases where LMs or C scale remedies are being used?

Hi Annette,

A dissimilar aggravation will consist of symptoms that are new to the patient but part of the remedy they have been given - and there will be no improvement in their pre-existing symptoms.

A 'healing crisis' is really a similiar aggravation where the patient's existing symptoms worsen before an improvement (ie, the dose was too strong for their sensitivity or given too frequently. Sometimes it will happen on the first dose but not subsequent doses).

Occasionally a discharge may develop as a 'vent' but if the remedy is good, the patient will be feeling better on other levels.

There is no significant difference in aggs between Cs and LMs - they are a product of sensitivity plus dose size and repetition no matter what potency scale is being used.

I would say that if it's a healing crisis, the person's energy will always be better than before, even if outwardly things seem worse.
