A patient has the delusion that she is surrounded with a rubbery smell. As it is everywhere she goes she thinks it must come from her. No-one else can smell anything. I have seen the delusions of smell and the rubric under noses but they are not helpful in isolation. Has anyone experience of this or know what physiological process it might be part of? She is not sinus-y and doesn't appear to have nasal problems.

Hello Theresa,
nothing specific
NOSE - ODORS; imaginary and real
Or
Nose – smells odors, imaginary and real
