Dear Andy
Yes client was having pain and stiffness before the rupture actually happened so maybe I should find out those symptoms. However you have answered another question - whether Nat Mur is the only Rx given for rupture - which it is appears it is. Will phone her tomorrow and see how the Arnica did if anything.
Thanks

Bowen's therapy excellent for that tightness in calf muscles often associated with Achilles problems, Jean

Dear Jean
Even if she could afford it I don't think there is anyone nearby who does Bowen !!

Only Nat-m. is mentioned. MacRep doesn't have a specific rubric for rupture of the Achilles, but here is the more general rubric for injuries to tendons:
Generalities; INJURIES, BLOWS, FALLS AND BRUISES; TENDONS, ligaments (TENDONS)(l, 38, 0) (38) : AM-C., ARN., BRY., HYPER., RHUS-T., RUTA, Anac., Calc., Nat-c., Nat-m., Phos., acon., agn., apis, ars., ars-i., bell., benz-ac., calc-p., calen., canth., carb-an., carb-v., ferr., guai., hep., iod., kali-i., lyc., m-aust., nux-v., petr., sep., sil., sulph., symph., taosc., thuj.

Interestingly, the drug Cipro can cause ruptures of the Achilles -- even after discontinuing the drug. I guess this resembles the link between chloramphenicol and aplastic anemia.
About that Arnica reaction: I had a 40 lb. cast iron house jack fall on my foot yesterday. Took Arnica 1M as soon as I could hobble to the house, and I was able to stay on my feet, with swelling at a minimum. Took another 1M before going to bed as I thought the foot might be broken and I wanted to sleep. Today it felt good enough that I decided not to go to the ER, which was an iffy option anyway since we've had freezing rain atop snow the past two days. If the foot's broken, it's just a crack, and the docs can't do much about that.
The other part of the Arnica reaction is that I didn't want anyone, including the dog, coming near me! It's that "noli me tangere" feeling of not wanting anyone or anything to touch you, as that would worsen the pain.
Peace,
Dale

Rochelle,
since I don't think anyone has mentioned it a remedy to think of for this injury is Millefolium (yarrow) , this remedy is often thought of for hemorrhages and copious bleeding but it is useful in injuries and trauma it is in the compositae family so it makes sense it would help with injuries!

And there's also the one specifically for ruptured tendon. (Only rhus-t, calend, and anac.)
