Ruta doesn't always make it. It has never worked for me on any of 3-4 different ligament and/or
tendon injuries.

Re: Achilles rupture
That exercise is the same stretch that I used for a bad plantar fascitis case. It is basic PT.
They even sell nite supports to keep the ankle flexed during sleep to avoid the tightening up
that occurs in those injuries.

Re: Achilles rupture
Actually I like the idea of Calendula!!! Rhus Tox it is not and I really don't think I would chance Anac without other confirming symptoms. I gave her an Arnica 200 for starters!!

Re: Achilles rupture
RADAR lists Nat-m. for rupture of the Achilles. Many years ago I ruptured a ligament in my leg (not, however, the Achilles). Treated it simply with Arnica, which was all I had then. The Arnica worked well -- too well! I forgot I had an injury and was walking around on it when I should have been on crutches, thereby injuring it further. Learned to warn patients from this experience.
Friday night I gave Arnica 200c to a woman at a party who'd fallen on the ice and was in pain. She limped through dinner but needed no painkillers. Decided not to go to the hospital unless it was no better by morning. The next morning her hubby insisted on the ER. Turned out she had a broken hip, but the Arnica had kept the swelling down and kept her pain manageable.
Peace,
Dale

> So do we have a homeopathic Rx that is indicated best for a rupture?
(( The most specific remedy in the mm for this issue is Tetradymite (sp)
(see Boericke, don't have the specific text in front of me, think it is
covered in a footnote. It is a complex mineral remedy that is little-used
(and I have not had occasion to use). I would surmise that it is for
chronic achilles issues including rupture - not necessarily for optimal
healing of *any* acute rupture. But never having used it, that may be
incorrect. I would say study it and consider trying it after or parallel
to using the usual support for fibrous tissues (ruta, rhus-t, the tissue
salts mentioned) and (symphytum was an interesting comment).
I would not be shy about trying something "new" in this really awful
injury. Sorry not on regular computer so cannot give you more - there are
other rx for fibers that can be found by rep study. But as I recall
Boericke was very high on Tetradymite for achilles, and since he practiced
in San Francisco, I would tend to favor his opinion, but I could be
biased...

Re: Achilles rupture
Thanks Dale- I have nothing in my reps . Does Radar list any other Rx or just Nat Mur?
I know that Arnica reaction well!!! When I tripped in Athens a couple of years ago and bashed my nose so it bled badly I took Arnica 30 quite a few times in the following hour or so - I didn't realise I had a fracture in my elbow until I was on the plane a few hours later and couldn't get food into my mouth!!!!! I think this only happens if you take Arnica immediately after the injury.

Interesting that the footnote from Boericke does not come up in EH. I may
have exaggerated Tetradymite laurels in Achilles rupture just a tad.
No question it has affinity there, (Boericke highlighted that in the
physical book hidden as footnote comparison). Appears applicable as
chronic rx, not apparently for acute Achilles rupture per se. Did client

Re: Achilles rupture
Dear Andy
Yes client was having pain and stiffness before the rupture actually happened so maybe I should find out those symptoms. However you have answered another question - whether Nat Mur is the only Rx given for rupture - which it is appears it is. Will phone her tomorrow and see how the Arnica did if anything.
Thanks
