PANCREATIC INSUFFICIENCY

I am trying to find references to pancreatic insufficiency but so far have only found one in my EH: Iodium. Would anyone have any more references/info? Looking at rubrics under pancreas I can't find anything that refers specificially to this issue only to pancreas problems in general:

Would anyone have any further rememdies to add to the list or better rubrics?

Best thing might be to rep the specific symptoms?
But it would not occur as an isolated thing; as with any other organ over- or under-function, it's part of the whole case, and could manifest differently in different people...

Dear Kerry you might not find enough references and if causation is difficult to determine, i.e. a diseased state deeper than an insufficiency, and sx are all to common to make a good case, or it is a case of an animal and sx are difficult to obtain I would make a list of all rx that have some kind of affinity to the pancreas so that would include the 'diabetes' references for example and then study them for other ideas - so that rubric you'e included here is a good start.

Hi Shannon

It is an animal rather than a person and I have little to go off: pale stool and weight loss. I would like to read up on all the remedies that might cover this problem with the pancreas.

Thanks for your input Joy. Yes it is an animal and the only symptoms that I have are emaciation and pale fatty stool, plus blood test results. Nothing else has changed and she doesn't have all of the symptoms that would appear with this problem, but that might be due to quickness of diagnosis: they might appear later.

Ars and Phos will be quite high on the list of rx to study and this might be useful - hope it comes through ok, it is a list of rx that have an affinity to the pncreas in complete dynamics

Thanks for the further input Joy. I had tried Phos as soon as she started to show symptoms, as she is quite Phos like in nature, with no change. She has always responded quickly to low doses of remedies in the past - not that she has had many remedies as she has rarely had any problems: a blocked salivary gland (a few years ago) and worms (a few years ago). It is always difficult to know whether to go higher or more frequently when not getting any response, especially with so few symptoms.

Hi Kerry,

Chronic pancreatitis is apparently common in cats ( I found this out after a trip to the vet's, as I was freaking out). Lou had said in class that Crot h was great for chronic pancreatitis if well indicated. Since Lucy doesn't talk and all she was doing was throwing up I tried a 6C. Worked like a charm. Might be something to think about and research for your animal.

Thanks for your input. It is a dog rather than a cat. I do know that certain breeds are prone to pancreatic insufficiency, especially GSD's. I have a lurcher and they are not normally one of the types that are prone to it. I'll have a read of Crot-h along with the other remedies.
