We have seen a homeopath for 2 years but he has not found our constitutional remedy yet. This is our second homeopath and first one also didn't find our remedy so none of us have had much success by homeopathy treatment. Our first homeopath suggested we go to allopathy doctor and she said " This is really serious" as a bladder infection was getting worse with her homeopathy treatment. My arthritis problem didn't address either. My son's autistic behavior had never better with it, too. We also waited for 2 years with her homeopathy treatment and moved on.
The second homeopath tends to look at rare remedies. He used Caulophyllum for my arthritis pain for about one year. Ended up, it aggravated me so bad. He changed remedy after that but each time my symptoms were worsening and I got new symptoms that are staying with me for long time now. After few more remedy changing, I was so damaged and not functioning for life.
My son also had rare remedy but it didn't last for long time. My husband was also receiving rare remedy but almost once a month he is changing the remedy as not finding a right remedy.
I just wonder why we are all getting rare remedies? I heard most people get polycrest remedies and not necessary to use rare remedy most of the time. I think our homeopath believes that rare remedy works better than polycrest remedy and kind of guessing if it was successful he could publish it and he can be more significant(He asked me that he wants to publish that Caulophyllum case).
If your homeopath can't find your constitutional remedy for over 2 years do you still stay the same homeopath or move on to new homeopath?
Actually I saw a new homeopath and it was a Skype consult. She doesn't accept e-mail or phone call unless I pay for it(I have to make an appointment to contact with her). She said my remedy is 90% correct so I trusted her but I got really bad aggravation. I wanted to ask her but I thought about if she was 90% sure and I have to pay for it, I need to pay huge amount for future consultation with her. She went overseas for her lecture of homeopathy for about a month so meanwhile whether regardless of paying or not paying I couldn't contact with her so there was not much of choice, I had to drop her.
I don't know if I should go back to second homeopath or just forget about him? I don't know how other people are doing with homeopathy treatment. Some people find my writing as normal and some people find not normal. I just want to know other people's opinion on this. It is quite frustrating for me.
Currently I am finding remedy by myself and my suffering is a lot less than it was with what those homeopaths prescribed for me because I can change without having to wait.

The process you're going through doesn't sound like homoeopathy's finest moments. It shouldn't take 2 years to feel improvement - have any of you felt improvements at all during treatment? On the other hand, especially in long distance treatments, I'll usually recommend allopathic monitoring of complaints, especially chronic ones. The question is if the bladder infection was aggravated during treatment, was the treatment itself adjusted accordingly.
Were your homoeopaths using dry or watery doses? Watery doses properly prepared and appropriately repeated are less likely to cause aggravation.
There are different approaches to the issue of constitutional. There are those who believe there is one remedy which will cure all your problems past, present and future. I'm not one of them, although I have seen single remedies cure individual patients of problems in various systems of the body over fairly long periods of time. I think you should be feeling better, not worse from homoeopathic treatment so the experience you describe doesn't sound right. If there are aggravations, they should be mild and transient, otherwise it's possible that you were given doses that were too large or too often repeated.
Caulophylum isn't a rare remedy - maybe it's difficult to get hold of where you live. Polycrests became so not least because of their broad spectrum of action - a polycrest may not be the best remedy for your situation, some homoeopaths work more with rare remedies than others.
If you are constantly aggravating during treatment and not feeling improvement, and if the aggravations are staying with you for years, and if the homoeopaths concerned are not accessible for some kind of updating before follow-up appointments, this kind of treatment doesn't sound right.

You may not have a good match between you and your homeopath. Homeopathy is a protocol that
requires good communication where both parties can really open to each other. It sounds like something
is awry in the process. The distance case-taking may be making it harder for you both.
Homeopathy is very capable of treating the condtions you mention.

Re: How long does it take to find constitutional remedy?
Dear friends,
The question of constitutional remedy is quite interesting - before anything else we need to understand what this term means. Some people think constitutional remedy is one remedy that will cure all your acute and chronic remedies. This is not actually the case. A person may need one, two, three or more medicines one after another till a chronic disease is completely cured. One dose of medicine may cure a chronic disease if it is not complicated. But in most cases after a few months (in case of C potencies, much faster if you use LM) the picture changes and a new remedy may be needed. When you take the constitutional remedy youi immediately feel the effect. You feel more energetic, more cheerful and your symptoms start disappearing one after the other.
As such constitutional remedy is a remedy that is prescribed on the basis of your mental and general symptoms as compared to a remedy that is prescribed locally.
There is no harm in giving rare remedies in fact they can be very useful but you need to immediately switch over to the constitutional remedy once the remedy has acted. For example if a patient has asthma you can give sambucus, or aralia etc. if the symptoms call for them but once the attack is under control (usually in 3-4 days time) then you need to immediately switch over to the constitutional remedy - or the next attack will be much more severe. Here you do not wait and watch with the notion that as long as the remedy is working one should not disturb it. Once you give the constitutional remedy you can wait and watch.
If a physician cannot find your constitutional remedy in three sittings change him/her.
Some people think finding the constitutional remdy is very difficult - in fact it is not so. If you know your mentals and generals well it is usually a matter of minutes.
Best regards
Elham
