Aspartame* Disease - an Ignored Epidemic
2nd UK Public Health Lecture Tour by Betty Martini

Betty Martini is an outstanding, accomplished specialist public speaker on the controversial history behind the US government regulatory agencies that allowed aspartame onto world markets and, most importantly, the potentially serious health effects of this commonly used artificial sweetener. A veteran campaigner in a number of areas, she became involved in highlighting the concerns of medical practitioners and sufferers about adverse health effects linked to aspartame in the early 1990s.

Dear Colleagues

This is hot off the press and LONG. But it will bend your minds. BETTY
MARTINI is of course the Mother of the Anti-Aspartame campaign. I have met
with her twice and she is absolutely superb.

Just one bit:
"Alex Constantine's Sweet Poison on how aspartame was once listed with the
Pentagon in an inventory of prospective biochemical warfare weapons
submitted to Congress. "

Dr. Soroush
As may be well known to many, there are two lobbies, one is pro-aspartame and the other is of fact-finders. The first one is backed by multi-billionaires of the aspartame-industry. This rich industry try their level best to silence all those voices who pronounce truth basing these facts on empirical research.

I have practically observed that the use of aspartame by certain people with the genetic disease, those with advanced liver disease, and pregnant women with hyper phenylalanine do have a problem with aspartame. I did observe a few cases of brain damage of those who continuously used aspartame. This is perhaps these facts that FDA of USA have ruled that all products containing aspartame must include a warning to phenylketonurics that the sweetener contains phenylalanine.

The sad part of all this is that no such warning has so far been prescribed by governments of majority of countries.

Greetings everyone

The British Medical Journal recently ran an 'Editorial' article saying that
Aspartame was safe.

Sadly we live in an age where scientific journals can be hijacked.
Editorials are supposed to be unbiased and high-light both sides of the
coin. This one was not and was badly researched. Alarmingly; one of the
authors - Prof Lean - is also an advisor to UK Food Standards Agency - who
have never commissioned any safety trials on aspartame and absolutely refuse
to undertake or fund any.

Please see some of the responses that this inadequately researched article
drew.

Please see http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/eletters ... /755#76712

Interestingly Dr Nick Finer - Medical Advisor to Ajinimoto (one of the main
manufacturers of Aspartame) tries to defend the safety of this product.
As Nixon said, if you repeat a lie enough times, people believe it!

Please read the whole article.

Please forward and pass it on to friends and relatives who may be unaware of
this particularly nasty substance now in a lot of peoples' every day foods,
drinks and medicines and vitamin supplements.
