I just learned that Dallas Bryce Howard (an actress who plays a vampire in the TWILIGHT series) loves homeopathy.
I have heard that her dad, RON HOWARD (the famed director/producer) is also an appreciator of homeopathy, though, as yet, he has not "come out of the medicine closet" with any statement (yet).

always great to hear news like this.
on the other side of the fence:
saw the film Under Our Skin last nite. It has received wide acclaim which is why
I think this community should see it, or at least be aware of it.
The film is about LYME disease and its presence in our culture. It
Covering the geographic spread, including moving eastward through Europe,
the nature of the spirochete organism and its devastating chronic effects on people.
The film looks at current medical care and its total inefficiency. It also spends a
good deal of time looking at Lyme specialist mds and how they are treating Lyme
with long term, high dosage antibiotics. Cringe!!!!!
Those practitioners are losing their licenses due to the limited tx allowed by the IDSA,
'official' committee set up to review the reserach and literature and set the standards of
practice. One Md, a 78 yr old man described as his treating lyme a lifetime passion, has
been raked over the medical coals in court for 5 yrs (at least as per the timeline in the film
which is probably a couple of years old now).
The film is very compelling creating much sympathy for the chronic sufferers of Lyme, the
horrific experiences people have being told they are crazy when the mds cannot dx the illness
sx reported to massive amounts of expensive drugs with treatments not covered by insurance.
The problems with the film include:
Lack of discussion of alternative treatements; ie, homeopathy
No connection between the process of attacking people who go further than what the medical
industry defines and other medical issues, such as the hounding and delicensing people like
Andrew Wakefield around vaccine damage issues, to the current witchhunts against homeopaths
being heavily waged in the UK and spreading throughout the world as per the Codex Alimentarious
trade agreements.
No discussion about antibiotic dangers, especially long term.
These are just a couple of the problems with the film from my perspective.
It really sucks people into demanding more antibiotics and minimizes the internal conflicts of people
set up to make health decisions with their financial and professional investments. For example the
vast majority of research articles that were reviewed by this committee were written by the majority
of the committee.
I am sure the makers of the film were sincere in trying to expose some contradiction in the health
care of sick people in this country, but they fall into a trap of myopic vision on many levels.

Are there other successful treatments for Lyme besides homeopathy, and antibiotics (which apparently can be successful, esp. if started early)?
