Deer Tick...

Post by Albrik Avanessian »

Hello Folks,

On Saturday night we fond a tick on my son's leg. We took it out
completely. It must've been on him
for no more than 6-8 hours. So far there's no rash or anything but needless
to say we are a bit nervous.
What would be the course of action at this point. Does it make sense to
give Ledum profactically (SP?)
or wait untill symptoms appear ?

I read Will Taylor's article on WholeHealthNow about Lyme. As usual it's
Will at his best but for now I'm
in panic mode and nothing is making sense. Help please....

-Albrik in Boston.

the first thing would be to take the tick in for identification. all ticks do not carry lyme.
around my property and region lyme abounds and i had a serious case 2 years ago.
however, i constantly take wood ticks off in the early spring and find minute ticks that
seem to love the eyelids of my cat. blood tests are used to identify lyme in the system.

these are the first steps that i would recommend before going into banana land with
worry. then, if lyme is diagnosed, i would proceed with treatment.

Hi Albrik,

I see no reason not to use Led. prophylactically, especially if Lyme is
endemic in your area, and if you've identified the tick in question as being
of a species that is an infection vector.

Also "symptoms" does not necessarily mean ONLY "rash" or "flu-like"
But -you might not be in a position to notice possibly more subtle M/E
symptoms... maybe treat the parent for panic..

best regards,
