side effect arnica

Post by radezeeuw »

Hello:

I am very much new to all of this.

My wife has a brain tumor and is taking Accutane as a "chemo-like" drug. Accutane is causing a lot of pain.

I gave her 5 of the Arnica 30X and she immediately had a lot of dizziness with blurred vision and nausea. It all cleared within the hour. I don't even know if it helped with the pain due to everything else going on at the time.

Advice?

Thanks in advance,
Rick

It could be potentiating the effects of accutane. These are probably not due to Arnica 30X. I see that all of these are given as side effects of Accutane...

Hi Rick,
In your understandable attempt to deal with your wife's pain you have tread into deep water. My advice would be to get professional advice from a local homeopath.

But as to Arnica, it is a remedy _mostly_ for hemorrhaging, bruising, bruising pains and shock-like symptoms. The kind of thing that occurs after blunt injury trauma.

If her symptoms didnt match that picture its possible that it triggered symptoms of a more correctly chosen remedy. After giving a remedy it is important to carefully record details of any new or more pronounced symptoms that arise since they are good indicators of the right remedy.

Or if her symptoms did match then possibly it was the right remedy given in too strong a potency which brought up proving (additional) symptoms of the Arnica, assuming that afterwards she felt much better.
I dont have a Materia Medica in front of me to verify.

Or it had no affect and she was just coincidently developing more symptoms of her original disease.

Or... As you can see it can get complicated. Giving the first remedy can be the easy part. Followup can be difficult. Get some help.

What is the usual potency used of Arnica. I have never used it under 30c. Curious, Jean

I wondered whether her undoubtedly fragile condition might make her hyper-responsive and more likely to prove or aggravate from remedies, especially if imprecisely prescribed? What do you think?

Now, that makes sense!
Do you know if the same type of thing would happen with Ruta Grav and/or Calc Phos?
We have been in contact with Dr. Prasanta Banerji and plan on starting his homepathic treatment for brain tumors.

Thanks,
Rick
