Venkat, and all,

From some countries, what you see and have available to you on sites eg., Google books, is different to other countries. Here in Aust. You cannot download as many books as you can in the US.

However, there is a solution. If you use a proxy server to access the page, it will work. I just tested it, using a proxy server in the US and it worked immeditately.

I chose the second one in the following list:

http://www.publicproxyservers.com/proxy ... time1.html

Just put in the first link you were sent, and you should be able to download it.

Thanks Robyn. It worked. But again only a 3.2 MB file got downloaded which again could not be opened. Adobe said file is damaged. So my problem continue for the present. The text link is good and I plan to copy text and paste into a word file. Cumbersome, yes, but effective.

The download link is near the top right hand corner of the google page, right above the right hand scroll bar. It is not on your Mozilla browser. I downloaded the file (took some time as it's over 800 pdf pages) It is not searchable in it's downloaded form. I then 'printed' the file to Microsoft's Onenote (bundled with Office 07). In onenote the file is searchable and can be split up into chapters (though that's going to take a little cutting and pasting).
