Re: Is there a cure for burning feet
And, check old posts for burning feet.
Some of my recent work on this has hinted at this also.
1. Blood not thin enough. This may result in patient often clotted marks (ecchymosis) on the skin without contusions.
2. Stasis in veins
3. Peripheral neuropathy ( this is dangerous)
4. Liver derangement (from suppression)
Some common sense measures include the following
In severe cases, patient must stop all coffee, tea, coke, white sugar, alchohol, fried items, all animal fat, and excessive diary. Live on one fruit meal a day. Weekly once fast with only juice(taken as much as needed). Do pranayama and Yoga. (check my mail on burning feet a few months ago). Application of coconut oil on the feet has also said to give temporary relief. Sleep with feet raised. Abstain from sex for as long as necessary. Relax.
Also, avoid excessive physical strain.
On the homeopathic side- of course we have the usual top Rx like
Sulphur, puls, Ledum, Calc, Lyc, Med, Merc, Nit ac etc. Choose one according to the concomittants and modalities. Wait and watch.

Re: Is there a cure for burning feet
I have treated one of these as well. At first she did well on Silicea, but the burning feet continued. . . Pulsatilla has seemed to addressed but it's still in process. Also, I concur with Venkat. She had been having burning feet for some time (worse at night). Then had a TIA (mini stroke). No diabetes but that is often a precursor as Rochelle mentioned.

Re: Is there a cure for burning feet
Just realised that I had a patient with burning feet years ago. The burning feet went away with Sepia but I reckon I might have suppressed something because what came next was a lot worse - a type of tachycardia which had been lurking in the background and as far as I know still hasn't completely stopped. Lach helped this for a while. Homeopaths who have been on the list for many years may remember the case.

Re: Is there a cure for burning feet
interesting. you note that tachycardia lurking in the background which implies that the condition was there all along.
then the burning feet may have been a superficial expression of the problem. so the challenge is to figure out what
the heart issues were really about and that seems to have been the problem. that is what i am getting from your note.
the tachycardia problem is not clearly a result of supression--not saying you are wrong, as i don't know the case, but
your interpretation of the problem is not clear.

Re: Is there a cure for burning feet
Rochelle,
Burning feet may be indicative of a peripheral neuropathy stemming from the heavy metal 'lead'. 'Lead' will also induce hypertension so could be responsible for the tachycardia you are seeing. I know that homeopathy can help metabolize 'lead' out but I would have your patient check on her water source. Does she have 'lead' water pipes? I know of studies even today showing high 'lead' content in London gardens, probably the settling from decades of 'leaded car and airliner gasoline use:-((
I've had the 'burning feet' myself and around the same time I had blue lines across the teeth gums and tachycardia. The latter is a very positive sign of mercury or 'lead' poisoning. I think it's always good to look for the source of a problem to reduce the poisoning aspects.
The symptoms of burning feet, tachycardia for me accompanied a 'frozen shoulder', tremors up and down my extremities Ferrum Metallicum 200 x 2 resolved my problem 100% in 5 days.
This thread is highly interesting as just this week I carried out a test on my Welsh tap water using electrolysis. I was shocked to see 1/2 inch sediment settle fairly quickly on the bottom which is probably corroded iron from the main water pipes. During the time I had the above problems I was NOT filtering my water. According to the water supply company, they have not flushed out the mains during the entire time I have lived in this house. So I suspect I might have iron overload also:-((

I've also seen burning feet down as a symptom of iron overload - Ferrum
Met is a specific for right frozen shoulder which can be from referred
issues from the spleen - the spleen has a role in handling the iron. Was
it your right shoulder Julie?

Julie: Can you elaborate on this? Does Ferrum Metallicum have a chelating effect? If so, on what metals is it effective?
Does the term Ferrum have anything to do with iron absorption and overload?
Carmi Hazen

Re: Is there a cure for burning feet
Thanks for that- I haven't seen the patient for a couple of years but seem to remember having a Christmas card saying she was going to make another appointment but hasn't done and I haven't followed it up. Since I can't remember her surname I can't even access her files at the moment to check for you the details of the tachycardia but I do know that an operation was being considered but she had got herself back to work (the aetiology of cause!!) . She lives in an old house so what you say about water pipes is interesting.
