bulging disc
Aerobics instructor has been incapacitated with a bulging vertebral disc from pressure on it. It is not a slipped disc. Apparently the bulging is because it is inflamed. She has had this for 18 months and has had 2 epidurals to stop the pain. The first worked and the second didn't. Any ideas for homeopathy or anything else I can suggest for her?
Thanks

Re: bulging disc
#1 remedy for back pain due to overuse no matter what the result (bulging disc or other)
Re: bulging disc
Hello Rochelle,
Just as a general approach ‘first aide’ – any inflammation may be helped by anti-oxidant nutrients (C is of course the first to mind – but all are necessary for long term healing). Long term – don’t forget to factor in the nutrient depletion of the drugs she has taken during this 18 month period (not to mention the stress).
Has she had any relief from cold or heat applications? Has she been able to use massage therapy, acupuncture, or cranial sacral therapy for pain relief? There are some more extreme traction therapies than can provide temporary relief and sometimes prevent a disc rupture. Does she have a good physical therapist to work with? Does arnica gel or cream provide any pain relief or muscle relaxation in the region?
For homeopathic remedy selection – I’ve had wonderful success recently using Weihe points and Hershoff’s back summary information in addition to Synthesis to close in on good remedy selection more quickly.
For the homeopathic case – there will be factors of cause, nature of damage (nerve, cartilage, muscle, disk, bone), nature of pain, and co-factors (such as muscle spasm or tension in the muscles as a protection mechanism). Hang in there – these can be very difficult cases since the long term pain has a ‘trickle down’ effect into all of the other body systems – and can create a psychological can of worms as well.

Re: bulging disc
Not likely that she will take the time to come to me to do this. Have been trying to get her back for years since homeopathy got rid of her genital herpes with Thuja!! She was getting regular flare ups which stopped. I was wondering if chiropractor or osteopathy could help her.

Re: bulging disc
Maybe worth having her just try another dose of Thuja?
After all, eighteen months on, this is way past being an acute, and all of this happens on the preexisting base. And unlikely that *one* dose of any very useful remedy will be the only dose of it needed... ?
