I also think that an "impartial" and even "receptive" viewpoint such as Wakefield expresses (I mean, receptive toward the idea that vaccines may be a useful thing) could only lend credibility to his push for greater safety studies. I think it's a *good* thing to have this push coming from someone who is not anti-vaccine from the get-go.
