Watched the video yesterday and was impressed with Wakefield.
While he won't come out against vaccines as a concept, despite some
egging from Mercola, the concept was that there are no safety studies of
vaccines to note and that is what needs to be done. Wakefield's primate
study was glossed over so quickly that an uninformed viewed would not
pick up on it.
So, yes, the interview presents Wakefield as a reasonable, clear-thinking
person and much information was covered. But, generally, I found it so
conservative and very wanting. Mercola clearly tempered his position
and tone to match Wakefield's. Having listened to Mercola on other
videos and read much of his information on vaccine dangers, this moderation
was very notable to me. The response to autism was totally medical in the
discussion with no noting that holistic protocols have been helpful in dealing
with vaccine dangers. Of course, I do recognize this was an interview of a
committed medical doctor, but the impression is that this is the avenue we
have available to people with such medical injury.

I hear you but the purpose of the interview was to get his side of the story out and show the government does not value children
To address what is going on with him and his associates and the GMC

true, but i would not send the interview to just anyone. and, if i were to
use it as an organizing tool, it would need to be accompanied by some
qualifying remarks. i would note that here you have a mainstream, well-
recognized researcher who gets trashed for even suggesting that vaccines
may be involved. also to be noted, is how mercola is very critical of
vaccines and changed his practice from straight allopathy to holistic due
to the harm and general failure of allopathic protocol. with such qualifying
commentary, then the interview becomes more interesting to use as a tool.

Tanya
This is an interview to put the record straight about Wakefield - not to push alternative therapies.
I see it as prefectly normal to focus only on his side of the autism story, and interesting too to note that even allopathic treatment of gut problems will lead to an improvement in the autistic symptoms.

Liz,
I did acknowledge that the interview was about Wakefield. That doesn't stop my critical
concerns about the interview. We may watch it, but what we do with it is another story. I
still feel my criticisms stand.

and allopathic treatment is only palliative or suppressive and not curative...............we don't know what will happen over the long term

Yes. I agree.
Nevertheless, the healing is following the direction of cure, both timewise and hierarchically. I think it's pretty significant that the mental symptoms improve. Also, don't forget that anything can be healing if it is homeopathic to the person at that moment. Maybe the allopathic drugs were.
