who lives life like it will end tomorrow?
I can't remember which remedy this is but the person lives life like every day is their last. They want to cram in every last activity possible because they feel like life could suddenly end any minute. It's not a fear of dying but more like, I'm going to do every last possible thing I can and have fun because life is short. I'll sleep when I die. Is it Sulphuric Acid? I remember reading a very distinct passage that described this exactly but now can't find it.
Thanks if anyone can help!

Erica

Sul-ac is very hurried, cannot do things fast enough but it is because they know they will soon be too weak to do anything. With all the acids you have this energy and then prostration.
Petroleum has the 'must hurry to settle affairs because they feel that death is near'.
But check out the 'hurried' rubrics as many have this rushing to get things done because they feel that death is nearby - or maybe you can give the reasons behind this behaviour.

Hi Erica,
I don't remember reading that passage, but could it be Med? Between tendency (in some) toward hedonistic attitude, liking to party anyway, and "Fear, Happen, something will" (or Tub possible?)?

Dr Krishnamurthy has given a case(s) in which a middle aged man says I want to finish off my duties before I die (he has released a book called advanced Homeo Paractice). He has posted much of it here in our list too. I am giving the case here
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
" In another patient of fifty-seven years with chronic weeping eczema, after collecting the medicine during one of his monthly visits, remarks: "Doctor, I am not so much concerned about me. I don't have a desire to get myself cured. I have an aged daughter and a son doing his graduation. I must get a suitable alliance for my daughter and celebrate her marriage, and also see that my son is settled in life with a decent job. Before I die I want to settle these things."
Practitioners of all other systems (ayurveda, allopathy, nature cure, pranic healing, Rae-ki etc.) would simply ignore the above statements of patients. But, for a homeopath this is a gem. The patient's reaction to his disease or his outlook of his disease, or his attitude towards the doctor, which is not uniformly (or `commonly') found in all patients with that disease, is to be found out-AN ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSIS made in homeopathic practice.
Under the homeo medicine Petroleum we read,
"Feels death is near and must hurry to settle affairs" (see Boericke's Mat. Medica.)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=
Hope this helps

Re: who lives life like it will end tomorrow?
Thanks all for the good responses. However, it's not that the person thinks something may happen or they are going to die but rather ... want to live every minute like it's their last.
They just jam pack their life full of stuff and love every minute of it.
Joy, I think you are close with the "hurried" rubrics. It's like you best hurry and fit in every last bit of fun because the world could end tomorrow. It's a go, go, go personality that feels they need or rather want to jam pack every day with fun and family. She expressed it as don't waste one minute of your life because your life could end tomorrow. But she completely over-books every day. She does fit it all in but wow - it was exhausting just listening to it. And she does get tired but never stops. She says, "There will be plenty of time to sleep when I die."
I'll keep looking for the reference and will share it when I find it. But I really appreciate the info suggested.

Then to me that sounds like Tuberculinum, "burning the candle at both ends." But I look forward to hearing what the quote referred to, when you find it!

Another rubric to use would be 'busy' because you have to wonder what or why she is using all the time in this way as a diversion maybe so 'being busy' becomes true pathology.
Lil tig is frantically busy to divert attention away from what they really want to do and what they are obliged to do
Iodium is the same, they are driven by huge energies (hyperthyroid) and the need to be busy becomes almost a 'morbid desire'
Apis - out of duty and fastidiousness
The magnets tend to be like this because they are 'pulled' in so many directions
If there is exhilaration or ecstasy involved in the activity then Coffea and some of the 'drug' rx
Sepia gets into this state - already worn out they carry on because they cannot face the ultimate stasis that sets in when they stop
Arg nit is always impulsively busy, they think the world is ending so they work even faster (look in the 'delusions die' rubrics)
Lac maturnum is one of the 'hyperactive' rx
The 'industrious, mania for work' rubric should fit as well.
Nux vomica has the sx 'delusion wasting time' and Nat ars has the delusion 'working against time'.
So so many
Good luck. Is she loquacious and sleepless as well? Maybe ask her how she would feel if she was prevented from doing all this - sometimes looking at the other side of the coin can help.

Re: who lives life like it will end tomorrow?
It might be intriguing to look at the reasons why someone might overbook their life. Is it a zest for life, or something else? I have one patient who's a chronic overbooker, but in her case it's because she's afraid of offending by saying no. She's also desperately seeking a place where she might belong.
I can imagine others who might overbook because they are afraid of being alone with themselves, or because it makes them feel popular, or because....
Peace,
Dale
