I respectfully ask you to consider that:
(My questions/answers between)
1. the soils are greatly depleted of their original nutritional content
- and that even 'organic local' is not necessarily as full of nutrients
as it was even a few years ago.
...........A good reason to source food from as many places as possible:
what is missing in one soil might be readily available in another. But
you also have to sadly doubt as to whether organic is truly organic.
Living in a farming community I am only too aware of the tricks that can
go on: farmers getting neighbouring farmers to purchase non organic
fertilisers for them - they then pay the farmer in cash and get to label
their food as organic despite the fact that non organic fertilisers have
been used. Free range eggs being battery eggs disguised as free range
- sadly this is going on regularly.
2. the plants we grow are modified (by selective breeding and now by
genetic modification) for size, texture, flavor and shelf life - not
nutrition
..............I remember reading about an analysis of oranges purchased
in a supermarket. Many contained no vitamin c whatsoever.
3. the 'farm diet' requires farm 'life' as well - exposures, stresses,
working from dawn to dusk, and sleeping from dusk to dawn, etc. The
modern 'lifestyle' depletes nutrients at a far greater rate than the
original design called for
.................. What research have you seen that backs this up? I
would be interested to read it. Living the farm lifestyle I find that
my need for nutrients in greater than when I lived the modern lifestyle.
4. modern pharmaceuticals deplete the body beyond what is replenished by
food supplies (even good ones)
................A good reason to use homeopathy.
5. modern stresses deplete the nutrient stores of the body beyond what
is replenished by food supplies (even good ones)
...............Again I would be interested to read the research on this.
6. some modern humans have a set of inherited illnesses and 'dis-eases'
that is unlike our forefathers had to deal with - and the farm diet is
not sufficient to supply the special needs of those individuals.
.............Which diseases?
