Here is another suggestion to help Janine:
Is it worth trying to see if Dr Elizabeth Thompson or Dr Julie Geraghty from Bristol Homeopathic Hospital would be willing to see her?
Dr Geraghty's secretary is phoneable because I contacted her to see what the waiting list was for referrals and she was very approachable. They're a great team there at Bristol at the moment.

how does it work in the UK
Can someone from that hospital consult with her and her family in a non-homeopathic hospital?

I think it would be very difficult, unless the family asked for a second opinion, which you are entitled to do.
Otherwise, you are the patient of the first doctor - you abide by his prescribing or you get out.
