online case SP/June01
Re: online case SP/June01
Dear Shirl, thanks for sending the case to us.
I have a few questions - not in any real order of priority.
1) You say he is popular but treats his sister so badly - why? Does he
target certain people or is it more uncontrolled?
2) What sort of things make him happy?
3) What sort of acutes has he had in the past?
4) What was the birth and pregnancy like?
5) Is there any obvious aetiology to the case - did this all start before
the birth father died - if so what was going on in his life when it did
start?
6) How else does he show his anger?
7) What does he look like?
8) How does he show kindness and sympathy and will he cuddle at all?
9) What part does jealousy play?
10) What ambitions does he have?
11) How does he use his time, what interests him, is he curious about the
world - by curious I mean does he show great interest in the way mechanical
things work e.g. (this is a remedy related question)
12) Does he have any twitches at all?
13) He says he has no fears!!! In your opinion what do you think his fears
are?
Hope you can find the time to answer some of these questions,
Best wishes, Joy Lucas

Re: online case SP/June01
Dear Shirl, I know you haven't yet replied to my extra questions about your
case but I thought I would write this up now as I won't have time though the
rest of this week.
I think the remedy required is AMMONIUM MURIATICUM
Children who need this remedy begin their disharmony through some intense
feeling of insecurity - they have lost it or it been taken away from them -
and the outcome is an equally intense resentment.
Scholten always says it is the mother who the child acts out this resentment
(and other females???) but I think this is narrow minded.
Through this resentment they become malicious, closed, reserved, lots of
anger, surly and just generally very difficult to handle - totally
unco-operative. They become hard to protect themselves.
This all comes because they feel unprotected.
They nearly always target their resentment towards certain persons (this is
why I asked about this) - you will find this under 'averse to certain
persons' or 'sensitive to certain persons'.
And because of their great sense of loss and feeling vulnerable there is
enormous grief but they cannot cry with this grief. It is not silent or
undemonstrative grief (he is actually being quite the opposite) but it is
'sadness, cannot cry' or 'grief, cannot weep.'
Because they have intimate knowledge and understanding of resentment and
what causes it they are, at the same time, extremely intolerant of injustice
of any kind. You can read about this in Scholten.
Clarke says " morose, apathetic humour with repugnance to conversation." So
you have 'aversion to answer questions.'
They are extremely restless, can be very absent minded or with a poor memory
often because they are absorbed in their own thoughts.
Many of their pains and complaints involve a sense of burning which might be
why he wears so few clothes.
Sleep is poor quality because of anxious dreams - they get very tired and
have a dread of exertion.
Their fears are centred around the dark, people and of killing (hard ones
for kids to talk about and open up to so he says he doesn't have any).
Skin burns and is itchy, flakey and pimply. All the Ammoniums have warts (I
think???)
I hope this helps in some way. Some of my earlier questions were centred
around this remedy and also I was thinking of Agaricus which shares many of
these characteristics. I will await further information from you before I
dismiss this remedy. You might want to read up on Agaricus - briefly -
sociability versus anger and irrascibility - mischevious versus malice -
won't answer or talk, lots of grief, somnabulant, restless, cheerfulness
versus great sadness, etc.
There is an awful lot of cancer in the family medical history which might
need consideration at some point. I am always open to suggestions or further
info. What do others think?
Good luck, best wishes, Joy Lucas

Dear Shirl,
I would be very tempted to give him another dose of Sulphur if this did so
well before. It may also bring out the next remedy more clearly. He still
has many keynotes of Sulphur. What do you reckon?
