Fever after vaccination

Mother is having her 8 week old baby vaccinated tomorrow and has been told by the doctor that the baby will probably get a fever and to give it Calpol. Now I have come on very strong about her not giving Calpol for the fever (if there is one) and have sent her that link on why fever is not dangerous etc.

I was going to tke her round some Bell to keep in just in case but after seeing the rubric above I wondered just what would make Sil and Thuja a better Rx to give in a fever. Can anyone please enlighten me?

i dont know the answer but i will say that in school Will Taylor told us that most of the rubrics re: vaccination that included Thuja were referrign to small pox vaccination. or rather, that thuja was relevant mainly to smallpox and not to vaccinations generally speaking.

Interesting. I actually used Thuja once for a patient with a bad vaccination reaction but it was a long time and I know I found the specific problem in a rubric and it sorted it immediately. Unfortunately I can't remember the details!!
