Here's my volley at Health, or should I say Disease Canada.
I'm absolutely flabbergasted by the nerve of these people. It IS beyond insane.

Dear Sir/Madam:
I strenuously object to even the concept of approving more additives to processed foods. Asparaginase is an anti-cancer drug that has known serious negative effects, and there is absolutely no justification for its insertion into the food supply. I would think that by now you would be spending your time getting dangerous additives OUT of packaged foods, ie. MSG and it's derivatives, aspartame, high-fructose corn syrup and other chemicals that provide no nutritional benefit, rather on the contrary, have been shown to cause serious harm.
It is your obligation to protect the public interest -- not advance the interests of the food manufacturing business. Your priorities have obviously been co-opted by private corporations whose only interest is profit. This has got to stop.
The majority of us do not want to be consuming anything that has been exposed to chemical contamination, pesticides, genetically modified Frankenscience food, antibiotics or hormones.
The only thing that short-term "studies" prove is that the people who are doing them are short-sighted.
Allowing asparaginase into food products is unconscionable.
Your time would be better spent developing programs to counsel Canadians on how to prepare meals from fresh ingredients and take a pass on fast and pre-packaged foods. This is the ultimate public interest. Otherwise, you might consider changing the name of your department to Disease Canada.

I was informed this morning that the FDA has had approval letters on file for this same drug.
What I haven't been able to find out yet is whether is already approved, on the track for approval,
or being used in food stuffs.
The apparently claim this drug will minimize the formation of acrylimides in fried foods. So this is
just another man vs nature battle where the garbage they sell will be dealt with by adding some
new garbage to the pile. And we know the rest of the story--new disease making efforts that will
support more drugs from Big Pharma and Big Chema and perhaps Big Agra.
We need to support as much local economy as we can and side step these large corporations.
