Sx - symptom
SRP - a strange, rare and peculiar symptom (characteristic sx)
Dx - diagnosis
Px - prognosis
Tx - treatment
Rx - remedy (recipe)
PC - presenting complaint
H/O - history of
NBWS - never been well since
A/F - ailments from
OTC - obstacle to cure (also used for 'over the counter' prescriptions)
FC - fundamental cause
EC - exciting cause
MC - maintaining cause
SL - sac lac
A/B - antibiotics
X - decimal designation
C - centesimal designation
M - millesimal designation
LM or Q - 1/50,000 dilution ratio
Ø - mother tincture
AA - equal quantities of
AC - before food
BD - bis die - twice a day
GTT - guttae - drops
Trit - tritura - triturate
./- - client says
i/s - inside
o/s - outside
→ - tendency
o/st - outstanding
= - causes
