Have the vitamins, minerals, herbs, etc. been prescribed for her by a specialist (naturopath, herbalist, etc.) or is she self medicating? Poor quality, poorly chosen, too long a duration, and bad combinations of 'good' things can be dreadful and be a maintaining cause.

They are all self prescribed but are from the some company I buy mine from so I hope they are decent quality. I only buy Vit and minerals from them though.

So homeopathy needs tricks? I don't think so. Where is the science to prove this? Where are the cases to prove this, could be no more than placebo reaction. Where is the homeopathicity here, what is happening when you do this, it is more like herbal or allopathic thinking, giving top up doses. I challenge that, I really do not think it 'works', and you'd certainly have to define 'works' anyway. Confusing the vital force by giving low doses after high doses acting as a continual drip flow!

Hi Rochelle, Shannon,
There is a difference how long a remedy lasts if it is a simillimum as
opposed to it not being simillimum. In the first case it addresses the inner
disharmonizing process controlling the vital force. It frees up the vital
force to be under the control of the "indwelling spirit etc. " (aph 9). we
obserrve changes which are part remedy (the initial aggravation) and then
improvement - the homeostasis of vital force. we generally assume the whole
process is the duration of the remedy, but only the initial part is the
remedy, the est is the healthy control of the VF, which can last long or
short depending on what life throws into the pot from then on.

If it is the latter case, it is a dissimilar disease state and will wear off
sooner as we only see the initial change when the inner disease state is
suppressed, maybe with agg (proving symptoms) and then the original disease
state returns, which we usually recognize as "disease state' and so the
observable effect of remedy is shorter.
Don't be limited to snakes. Look at it as a "first consultation"
(unprejudiced observer).

regards,
Paul
Dear Joy,

She does loads of Bach Flower Rx that I know of and has given me now a
complete list of Vit and Minerals that she takes + EPO, Garlic, Gingko and
Ginseng!!! I have suggested that she cuts out the herbs and sees if she
feels any difference!!! I wouldn't have thought Bach Flower Rx would have
interfered but you never know.

The 50M lasts between 5-7 months sometimes longer but she will "boost" it
with a does of Lach 6 and this does work for her. We were taught this trick
at college as I am sure you were. When she goes right down again it is
because of something happening in her extended family again which tips her
over the edge and if the lach 6 doesn't do the trick she comes running back
to me!!

I will look into Crot Cascavella thanks

I will dig out where it was in my notes sometime and see if there was an Organon reference to it but I know it is quite well known. I'm sure we had a test or an assignment on when to use low potencies and this would have been one of the answers!!

As Joy mentions the fact of the fever recurring and so often is definitely a message -

I think also the suggestion for Crotalus is a good suggestion- Hering ( Knerr) has it for Fever - Relapsing ( typhus) fever as a single remedy

Puls might be a good one - still look at the modalities

Stannum has weakness, follows Lach well and is weepy too

But I think the point to retake the case and assess the follow-up needed for Lach is very well taken
in fact what I would do is try to get the pictures of the all the bouts of the fevers and see a common thread - I have always found some modality or something that occurs and connects these that would lead to a prescription - acute is never just an acute and is connected to the grand picture all the time...

compare it with the remedies that follow Lach as well...

Well to start with I would not go about thinking that one needs a snake remedy - a patient needs a Lachesis or Crotalus or Naja but not a snake remedy...

Also not by kingdoms either - that kind of narrows your focus and makes you move along a predetermined path- for all I know after a snake the patient needs a rat or an egg that the snake wants to eat or a plant that this snake likes hiding behind ;-)
