Not if they are stuck in symptoms that don't resolve on their own - a chronic state. The vital force cannot throw off the chronic state. It can throw off an acute miasm.
Yes and that would be an acute and needs the remedy that matches the symptom picture. It seems to be the body's way of detoxing - the symptoms are actually doing a job dissipating the disturbance. But if stuck, and become chronic, needs help with a homeopathic remedy, looking at maintaining causes, etc.
That is kind of the trendy thing to do - kind of like getting your astrological chart done. That isn't the best thing that has happened to homeopathy, in my opinion.
But he may have grown in confidence anyway as he got more comfortable in his skin and on the planet.
With the timidity he showed a symptom that was part of a picture and enabled you to find a remedy.

Without symptoms that deviate from healthy symptoms, we can't find a remedy.
