looking for rubric

Post by Pauline Ashford »

I am looking for a rubric – where child gets 2nd tooth through before the baby tooth comes out?? Is there such a rubric?? And how is it worded?

The child I am seeing is 8 – has 6 x 2nd teeth thru and has only just lost first baby tooth naturally and has had 3 others extracted and both teeth there in 2 cases.

Also has early decay in gum edges of quite a number of her teeth with brownish larks at sites of decay and constant stomach aches/colic and growth level in 25th percentile since 4 months old. Gregarious child and to my mind would definitely have Phos somewhere in prescription as a cation perhaps?

Hoping someone can help with this rubric

Regards Pauline

Hi Pauline,

Tho I don't know what the rubric would be, my memory is that that's a tubercular thing, and can indicate Tuberculinum--just to maybe consider if relevant?

Dear Pauline,
What you said about the early decay and the state of the gums made me think of Staphysagria.
I'm sure there was a discussion years ago about how to get the milk teeth to fall out when the second teeth are around and I think the Rx was possibly Calc Phos but not sure. Maybe someone else can remember?

Hi Pauline and Rochelle,

I agree. I would have thought Calc Phos, as well.

If you cannot find anything useful I would be tempted to go with 'children, growth, too fast' and then cross refer with the other sx. Would you actually use the fact that she is gregarious as this isn't necessarily a sx that needs curing ?

Usually the milk teeth roots are absorbed over time and nothing is necessary to do, but sometimes this does not happen and they just need to be taken out. It doesn’t fit the picture of delayed dentition or too early appearance – just one of those things.

Rubrics for the other symptoms may be more important.

You are right of course I hadn't taken proper note of the child's age - quite normal from eruption point of view.

Pauline - this might be useful
