If you check the blog, as of today it has updates stating that the reports might be a hoax. Who knows what's the truth anymore.

i have been listening to the link below www.labvirus.wordpress.com . it sounds very
reasonable, but you are right who knows. but i think something IS going on. the military
has always been used to test out vaccines and we know there are many serious reactions
to these vaccines. anthrax from gulf war 1 but in 1918 the flu was related to vaccines given
then.

this is NOT a reliable story - no evidence of it - very early for any h1n1 vaccine even for the military

i came across a news report on cbs from july, 2009 where several military were
quarantined. it raised the thought that this may have been picked up on and elaborated.

It makes you wonder who is doing the elaborating. Such incorrect
information being passed around by alternative health forums merely
makes them look as though they are prepared to say anything in order to
have their side of the argument believed. If I was coming to this
"for/against argument" as someone who knew nothing, I would be very
sceptical about believing the anti brigade when so much disinformation
is being spread to support their side.

While it is true that some false information gets through on the anti-vaccine side,
there is so much more false information on the pro- side. Further, questioning
vaccine safety and efficacy does have truth on its side--from both the laboratory
and the clinical ends.
As to who is spreading false information? It could come from Big Pharma itself
as much as from any other source. It could come from people who think they are
red, white and blue to set up their own false flags and watch people respond just for
fun. It could be a case of information being passed on slightly distorted which becomes
more distorted over time, much as in the childhood game telephone, if you remember
that one.
The FBI and CIA are notorious for using false news/information to create disruption
in social movements. Why not assume that this is a possibility.
BTW, did anyone see a CBS report on the flu during which they noted the value of
homeopathy in treating the illness? I received a post from Canada reporting this.
Don't know if it was on American stations? I think she said it was on 11/1 in the morning

i am not saying these reports are the same. i am only suggesting that this may have been
the original event which morphed into the flu story--only speculation. and perhaps there
was some truth in the flu quarantine story. the report i found on CBS website had no specificity in it.
i was trying to find the story sent to me that said CBS mentioned the benefits of homeopathy in dealing
with the flu when i came up with the story from july, 09.

The failure of any of the Navy wives to have obtained the name of the vessel from the navy wife who gave them the other details or the names of the two officers who supposedly died and the early date of the incident do suggest that this may be a hoax.
On the other hand, Tanya's right, posting red herrings discourages the open-minded from pursuing the next lead. And an ex-U.S. Navy man, Drew Raines, claims responsibility for obtaining the information from the navy wives.
The particular episode of the Internet radio show "A Marine's Disquisition", which Drew Raines hosts, on which he discusses the information listed can be heard here: . (Discussion begins at about 6:00 into the video and lasts about nine minutes.)
An account at adds the potentially helpful detail that the first ship was en route from San Diego to Phuket, Thailand, so it may be possible for somebody in the right place to correlate Navy deaths in April–May 2009 with the details of departure and destination, and to look up whether the H1N1 vaccine was available by 18 April. Someone has already listed a number of possible ships, but I'm afraid I've misplaced that page.
What strikes me as least credible about it is that I see nothing suggesting that Mr Raines was told (and himself broadcast) this story in May rather than in September. But it's possible that he was and did. I have seen an accusation that the July CBS story was lifted wholesale and became this story by additions; but I saw nothing in one that appeared also in the other. You may be right, Tanya, that one was elaborated into the other, but there's not, I think, a lot to suggest it.
Till someone can work out whether any vaccine was available on 18 April (and I don't think one was) and check personnel (specifically, captaincy and Chief Petty Officer) changes on all the possible ships, this may remain a perhaps, perhaps.

I agree that the pro side gives out false information which makes them
look bad; does the anti side also want to look bad? We should be above
them not on the same level.

And I also agree that it could very well be Big Pharma, which to my mind
makes it even more vital that people find out if the information is true
prior to hitting the send button. An email to someone like Sheri, who
is in the know, would be better than sending the info round the lists.
Once the info is verified as true, then great spread it around.
