Re: rubric
Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone has a take on a rubric for the statement, "I feel like dirt." I think that the statement seems to be a bit different than considering oneself soiled or dirty as in the rubric "Mind, delusions, dirty, he is". Maybe more organic than something on the surface.
Any assistance/insight would be greatly appreciated.

Re: rubric
Hi, Lisa.
Did you explore with the patient what that meant to him/her? Metaphorical
statements like that can be wonderful keynotes for a case, but they're also
open to multiple meanings. Then finding the rubric becomes a bit like
finding the proverbial needle in the haystack.
On the surface, it makes me wonder about lac-caninum. Two rubrics that
spring to mind:
mind disgust self
mind loathing self
But is this what the patient is actually feeling??

like dirt."
Hi Lisa
This instantly brought to mind the remdy Lac-can - dogs milk. I have rather
successfully prescribed on similar sentiments expressed though that term itself
was not used specifically.
In my case, the client felt unworthy of pretty much anything, deep down inside
- had been rejected at an early age by important people to her, and constantly
was saying things like " I only seem to be able to attract losers!" This person
had a history of being a victim, had been sexually abused by a family member at
an early age and then rejected by that family when it was revealed etc.
etc........
I saw this remedy described as having the aspect of the cowering dog, always
trying to please the master and thought at the time that this would fit this
clients inner belief about herself.
There maybe other remedies that have similar aspect to them. I'm sure others
will know these

Robyn

Re: rubric
dear lisa,
when i hear statements like that, they are ususally accompanied by, or actually mean, that the person feels disgusting inside. it's the sense of internal filth as you would expect in a rape victim. i now have 2 women who describe feeling dirty, disgusting, foul inside. it seems to me a visceral expression of a deep sense on self-hate and disgust. not knowing the person you are talking about, i cant say how this relates to them, but you might explore these self-esteem issues.

Re: rubric
perhaps better to try and find out why or when did this start-it's unlikely
she was born with it so something happened! You might get a NBWS for a rubric
then
