Re: herpes remedies
There are very many rx. Use any good repertory and you will see them all written down.

Re: herpes remedies
I had a cold sore near my lip that was yellow crusty. My osteopath saw it and
gave me 200 psor. It went away and never returned...and for several years
after that i was not as cold as i usually got.
I have an eczema that comes and goes. When i took a lot of remedies in a short
period of time...prescribed by someone on the internet around 10 years
ago...each remedy would bring out the eczema according to the characteristics
of that remedy. None really addressed it..but i remember taking hep sulphur
and the thing/ulcer got almost black and ugly and very painful which was not
its usual characteristic. I can't remember the other remedies...but the eczema
changed each time. Does this say something about me or as they were the wrong
remedy..i was just proving each remedies characteristics? Has this happened to
others where a skin condition takes on the character of the remedy one is
given?

Re: herpes remedies
i should clarify that i wasn't actually looking for rxs that clear herpes on the face. i had heard reference to herpes miasm, and i was curious about htat. not that i am intending to select a rx only from that group, but if the picture fits, then if a remedy is classed in 'herpes miasm' (which is new to me) then i would consider that extra evidence for its being a proper remedy.
if my question wasn't that clear, i apologize. possible it's because midway thru writing it, i realized i had no idea what i was talking about and i got nervous....i know there is some association between epstein barr and herpes and chronic fatigue....but i'm not sure yet what it is. mean to research all these things.
the info that Gail sent me about Ardavan's work and the viral miasms and such, this is exactly what i was looking for. as i said, it's very new to me. however my plan is not to just exactly select a remedy from her list: my plan is to repertorize and read MM and try to get the best rx i can find - and then hope fervently that i find that rx in her list. is that clear? if there is something wrong with that approach, i don't mind being told.
again, sorry for the very poorly worded email request which obviously confused a lot of people.

I groaned with Sheri as well.
There are very good reasons for not accepting protocols as the practice of homeopathy, even if they are successful some times .
I am concerned that the encouragement and promotion of routine protocols weakens the integrity of homeopathy so that we are left with little that can be passed on to the next generation - little that can be reliably reproduced by them. Some of us have to be concerned that the fundamentals of homeopathy be kept intact.
The last time this happened I think you, Liz, recommended Med as a 'never fail' for molluscum contagiosum (in a 200C potency daily for 3 days if my memory is correct) to a query from Rochelle. After trying this approach, Rochelle reported back that it did fail - that the patient hadn't been helped. In the meantime though, how many people convinced by the certaintly of the claim squirrelled away this piece of information as an easier and better way to practice homeopathy?
If homeopathy reliably worked in this manner we would prescribe this way as it would be so much easier to practice - but it doesn't.
I would much rather that people complain (and I think Sheri did so rather nicely) about these routinist prescriptions than them be accepted without challenge. If the latter was to happen, the list would become worthless for all - even those who cannot yet see this would be the case.

Re: herpes remedies
I hope the discussion/question can continue because it is a very interesting one and there is and was no need to apologise as the question was perfectly clear. I am sure you do know what you are talking about
Herpes is connected to a number of named diseased states but this just points to the diathesis, the susceptibility but you will still only understand that range by studying rx that have the affinity to it. As to Miasm I think some might challenge whether a separate herpes miasm exists over and above Hahemann's as it is well represented in Psora/Sycosis/Tubercular.
You might find these useful, just as starters:

Re: herpes remedies
and when you say, Joy, " studying rx that have the affinity to it. " - studying what? the list of rxs that Gail sent, where Ardavan broke out the remedies associated with Epstein Barr, etc, or do you mean studying the rxs in the facial herpes rubrics? or both....
thank you.

Re: herpes remedies
Sheri - did you think I wrote this about Pulsatilla? Well I didn't - I would never prescribe on only one symptom!!
By the way, I do use water, you know - and LMs - but find dry potencies are often good - as you know! (And don't let's open that can again!)
So - not me. Liz Lalor, I think

It was a different Liz - From: "Liz Lalor"
she wrote.........."I seem to continually use Pulsatilla 30 3 t/day x 3days at most with great success - once the vesicles start to show - "
