Codex revisited!!!!!

Looks like if we're to have any say in taking responsibility for our own health, we have to do something, and fast!
VERY VERY IMPORTANT - Codex Alimentarius: Downing St Petition Needs Your Signature

Dear Friends,
I know some of you will be familiar with this, for others you may not
be aware of what parliament is about to do in your name. Codex
Alimentairus is a law designed to hand over the control of natural
remedies to the pharmaceutical giants. One more attempt to regulate
us - with potentially dire consequences. Unless we take this last
opportunity and act now we will not be able to buy vitamins or
health/nutritional supplements without a doctor's prescription - they
will be banned from 31st December 2009.

You may think this can't happen, you may think why haven't I heard
about this before. The reason is that there are vested interests,
giant multinational pharmaceutical companies, and its not in their
interest that you know about and oppose this. They and our lawmakers
in Europe are banking on public apathy. Despite considerable pressure
already exerted our government is still planning to implement this law
- UNLESS THERE IS MASSIVE OPPOSITION IT WILL GO AHEAD.

Like many health and safety matters this was started with good
intentions, in 1962 by the United Nations, to establish international
free trade foods but has become a major threat to our civil liberties
and freedom of choice.

your post is timely, indeed. the one disagreement i have
is your statement about the codex beginning with benign intent.
history tells us that it was always designed as a means to gain
total control of the world's people while making beaucoup $ for
the corporate elites.

I've been watching this one. I don't think that the supplements will become illegal, but the RDAs will be reduced significantly - so much so that they won't really work prophylactically. The RDA amount of Vit A they were talking about is less that 1 large carrot I think. The levels still have to be agreed and I think it's kind of on hold until the Lisbon Treaty ratification is discussed again in Ireland. Lets hope that the people refuse to ratify again as I think that will really hold it up.

Also I noticed on the Parliament website that there were 2 early day motions recently from MPs asking the Govt to hurry up and do something about codex before it's too late as it will impact all the health food shops etc. So hopefully if the pressure can be kept up on the govt through the petition and from the MPs maybe something can be done.

these are the levels in the Codex. according to info from
Natural Solutions Foundation, the idea is to ban all but
about a dozen common vitamins but to only allow them in
such minimal dosages they are virtually useless. then if you
want a higher dosage you will need a prescription from an
md. of course all supplements will be synthetically produced
by big pharma. parliament is only trying to pass the codex
dictate.
