"A curious finding of the study was that 459 of the parents told the researchers that their child was previously told their child had autism or Asperger's Syndrome, but that they do not have it currently. This result is in accord with what has been reported by many parents that their children can improve, especially through bio-medical interventions, although many also report success through therapeutic interventions."
And are some of these with homeopathic treatment?

And the Band Plays On - Autism is Now 1 in 100
By Kent Heckenlively, Esq.
In 2007 the National Survey of Children's Health conducted a study on the rate of autism. The results have now been released. Of the 80,496 children surveyed, 921 were said by their parent to currently have autism or Asperger's syndrome. That makes the rate of autism in the children surveyed approximately 1%, or 1 in every 100. The rates generated from data in 2002 and 2003 suggested a rate of 1 in every 150.
A curious finding of the study was that 459 of the parents told the researchers that their child was previously told their child had autism or Asperger's Syndrome, but that they do not have it currently. This result is in accord with what has been reported by many parents that their children can improve, especially through bio-medical interventions, although many also report success through therapeutic interventions.
When you add the two numbers together, you find that of the 80,496 children surveyed, 1380 either currently have autism or Asperger's Syndrome, or did at some point in the past. That works out to 1.7% or 1 in every 58 children. Think about that. 1 in every 58 children is now getting a diagnosis of autism or Asperger's Syndrome in their lives. If you have two children that means the chance one of your children will be diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder is 1 in 29. If you have three children the chance is 1 in 19. If you're Jon and Kate plus Eight that's a little more than 1 in 7.
In commenting on this finding, Dr. Steve M. Edelson of the Autism Research Institute noted, "What we are discovering is that those with autism oftentimes have underlying medical disorders that impair gastro-intestinal, metabolic, and immune systems, and that when these problems are accurately diagnosed and treated, the symptoms of autism improve, sometimes to the point that the child is no longer classified as autistic."
As I was driving home today I heard a local doctor talking on the radio about those crazy people who think vaccines are linked to autism. The rate has gone from 1 in 10,000 twenty-five years ago to 1 in 100 today. Something is happening to our children that did not happen in the past. If not vaccines, then please find what is causing this problem. A generation of children and their parents deserve an answer.

Re: Autism - From 1 in 10,000 to (officially) 1 in 100
I suggested a friend of mine take her son to a classical homeopath here in the DC area. Her middle son (she had three, the first one being “normal”) had been severely autistic since early childhood. At the point she took him in, he was missing a day or so of special school a week and when he was there he would spend time in a fetal position or kicking and screaming and banging his head. She was single-parenting her boys, so it was particularly difficult.
At that point her middle son was 10. After the first visit to the classical homeopath, when they got in the car her son apparently said, “He’s a magician. I will take his medicine.” He was on heavy-duty conv. drugs but after some success with the homeopathic prescribing, my friend weaned him off drugs (without permission, though it seems to have worked).
She soon also brought her 2-and-a-half year old, who had been “identified” as probably autistic, to the homeopath. That child had a high fever and a rash a few weeks into the treatment. Fortunately, my friend had the courage not to treat the symptoms. When the acute illness subsided, she says that child began to talk and learn colors and the alphabet and was soon judged by “Child Find” to be performing at age level.
Now, about 2 years later, all three of her sons are “normal”. Needless to say, she is a believer in homeopathy. I have heard that the same homeopath has had other success stories with autism (and MS and such) but this is the only case I am familiar with myself. Teresa (Northern VA)

Sheri,
Two parents (who wish to remain anonymous) have written to me (separately) with children fully recovered - strangely enough both were cured with the same remedy - Lycopodium.
Truly,
Erica

I have some cured cases but I struggle to find time and energy to write them up will do one day soon enough though and will probably post on my web site as I want to have a 'cases' page. I also need to get permissions as well.

Hi Theresa,
it is really good to hear these success stories. I have treated several children with autism in the UK, and continue to do so, with a considerable amount of success. Last child treated, had an individual person assigned at school to supervise him, and a psychologist, both of whom are now out of the picture, as he is so much better, improvement given of 80%. Sadly, like other people here, I don't have the time presently to write up about it, perhaps one day I will. Janney Goddard is doing some work on this as well. Best wishes, Grace
