online case JA/May01

Post by Joy Lucas »

Dear Janice,

thank you for your case - here is my offering

1) can you say why you think of Nat Mur for this case

2) can you clarify the time modalities - you say he is a nighthawk, to me
this means he comes alive at night and suffers more through the daytime but
to others this might mean that the night is much worse for him because he
cannot settle. It is an important differential to make.

3) have you looked at MEDORRHINUM

he was born quickly - Medorrhinum is one of our most HURRIED remedies

compulsively washing hands (although there is also Psorinum, Syphilinum, lac
caninum etc)

total deafness

a word of harshness makes him feel despondent for hours (Allen)

tendency to suicide (threatens it)

constant state of anguish

appetite poor, can't digest

bilious colic

difficulty in breathing - constant stuffed feeling

hacking, barking cough

swollen glands in throat, very dry S.A.I. lump in throat

very restless, cannot keep still

sleepy but cannot sleep

<<< daylight to sunset, always brighter in the evening

It is worth reading Allen's Materia Medica of the Nosodes.

Thanks for sharing this case with us and can I ask if we can have it for the
archive (where all the comments and advice and follow-ups are placed
alongside the case presentation itself).

Best wishes, Joy Lucas

Dear Janice, just a few more thoughts re: your case.

Some very interesting remedies have been suggested - Calcs; Bell; Baryta
Mur; Medorrhinum and it was while I was writing up about Medorrhinum that I
began to think of another group of remedies which are very similar to
medorrhinum - the BROMIUMS

Thyroid affinity
Allergies - not sure about peanuts though
They seek attention and need love and nurturing but because they are so
disconnected they cast you away and become aggressive
There is childish behaviour
Intense emotions - extremely sensitive but react in an irritable manner
Makes mistakes in opposites (hot and cold)
Restless and impulsive
Fear of being poisoned (peanuts??)
Sense of guilt so hurt themselves - restlessness is often seen as a sense of
guilt, twitchy, waiting for something to happen, waiting to be punished and
then this <<< everything
Get teased a lot - poor opinion of themselves
Plumpish and faired haired usually
Deafness
Stomach and eating problems - colic in children
Dry spasmodic coughs
Skin = moist eczema

CALC BROM AND KALI BROM might be worth reading about

Can you shed any light on vaccinations this child had
Can you also tell us how he behaved in the consulting room - did you get him
to write or draw for example? How did he sit and react to you?

PS Can anyone supply a complete list of peanut aggravation remedies please -
and what is it in the nut that people usually have the allergic reaction to,
does anyone know?

Best wishes, Joy Lucas

hi, i am a health food person, organic, and many years ago i came across an
article saying peanuts caused cancer. i do not have a clue where i read it,
but i gave up peanut butter then. then fast forward to recent times and all
these really bad allergic reactions to peanuts. someone told me the other
day it was the skin on the peanut. i have no idea if that is true or not.
i would like to know more also. sheila
