An approach

Case taking is an art. Every homeopath is an artist in his own way. With an
experience one can reach a similimum through Observation, Physical,
Generals, Mental or even by marked Keynotes.
Predictive School of Homeopathy under the guidance of Dr.vijaykar has
always advocated to "Genetic constitutional prescribing", were one can see
Hering's "Law of cure" in each and every case except compensatory cures.
It is common question that how exactly one can evolve at GCS in a
case. The patient usually gives a long history with maze of symptoms. It is
easy to take a case, but understanding, analyzing and converting the
understanding of the patient in right rubric…that is in language of
repertory is difficult task. One is always jumbled with this symptoms or
rubrics and finally it becomes difficult as what exactly one should give
importance to?
How we need to proceed in the case?
We as a predictive group follow the certain step to evolve the similimum.
A] Make-up…Physical makeup, mental makeup and general makeup.
· In physical makeup we observe the height/weight,
Face/Features, hair/baldness and weather the patient is expressive or
nonexpressive.
· In mental makeup we give importance to Will, Morals and intellect. Even
Dr. Hahnemann in aphorism 5 of organon of medicine states….Useful to the
physician in assisting him to
Cure are the particulars of …patient (especially when the disease is
chronic), his moral and intellectual character,
His occupation, mode of living and habits, his social and domestic
relations, his age, sexual function, etc. are to be taken into
Consideration.
Further also we perceive in this makeup, various situations in life.
This will give the clear picture of how the person reacted to various
situations in the life, for example mildness, courageous, timid, and
cowardly. This is basic non-diseased nature of the person. This nature is
represented in each and every cell due to his Genetic code.
Even Emotions, sensitivity, attachments and any peculiar abnormalities are
taken into consideration.
· In General makeup, we consider the activity-speed, speech-hasty, jerky,
Appetite-craving/Aversion, Thirst, Aggravation/Amelioration, Thermals,
sexual function, Time/season effect is covered.

B] Causative Factor: One need to always probe in the case why the person
has to fall sick.What exactly can disturb the eqilibrium in his body? It is
definite that disease in a man is due to disturbance in protein balance in
the body.i.e. Immunity.Protein balance can disturb due to various causes.
The first line of Introduction to Organon of medicine states…As long as men
have existed they have been liable individually or collectively, to diseases
from physical or moral causes. Also aphorism 5 says, Useful to the physician
in assisting him to cure are the particulars of the most probable exciting
cause of the acute disease, as also the most significant points in the whole
history of the chronic disease, to enable him to discover its fundamental
cause, which is generally due to a chronic miasm.

The most important are Emotional/Environmental stress, vaccination,
Injuries, Animal bites, Antibiotics and Bacterial infection. {Dr.vijaykar
has explained this beautifully in his book, "Theory of suppression"}

C] Journey of disease: This understanding gives the clear picture of how the
disease entered the body and where exactly it has settled down. This is done
with the help of Dr.Vijaykar's chart of suppression. On the basis of
Hering's Law of Cure Dr. Vijaykar has formed this seven-layer chart of
suppression. This chart can then be used productively like a compass to
gauge the direction of Law of Cure. This chart will help us to understand
what path diseases take in the organs and systems in the mathematical
progress of diseases. It can predict what is going to happen after right or
wrong homeopathic stimulus.
. It is one of the best means of ascertaining whether a homeopathic
prescription is curative or suppressive. It will give definite guideline as
to which is the most important organs and which is less important organ.
If patient is taking treatment for acidity, and he gets Urinary Tract
infection or Backache? If he is under treatment of Asthma, he gets
Psoriasis? Whether it is right or wrong? Is it suppression or cure?
D] Miasm in disease and Genetic trait:
Dr. vijaykar has explained this topic in simple and
self-explanatory way.9o% failure in practisce occurs if we don't understand
miasm. The application of it will give the wonderful result.
The miasm is basic of all disease; it is nothing but disturbance of
cell function.
· Disturbance in organization [respiration, ingestion, digestion and
excretion]…Psora.
· Disturbance in Reproduction………Sycosis
· Disturbance in Defense……………Syphilis
Miasm can be seen from the nature of a person, his attitude, behavior, his
looks and constitution, to the disease he is suffering from, the pathology.

With the knowledge of all this anyone can evolve at right simuilimum
with ease. After the similimum the most crucial point is followup. One has
to know what one has to perceive in follow-up he can avoid a mistake of
careless prescribing, know the right direction of cure and be sure that he
has given right or wrong remedy.
