TB in abdomen??

Post by Rochelle »

Had a new patient in today who told me that when she had her appendix removed in 1960 she had a|Tubercular gland removed that was found at the same time after which she was treated for 5 years for TB with something like "PAB"? Does any of this make any sense to anyone? Dr Roz?

PAB seems to be an old antibiotic used in TB; and it is possible that her "appendicitis" was in fact a tubercular lymphadenitis, with inflammation at the lymph nodes near the ileo-caecal valve giving the same symptoms.

Thanks Joe,
So how much should I take this into account during case taking? The patient is a very young looking active 70 yr old. I gave her Calc which was a Class "A" Tubercular Rx in my miasm book because it covered many of her current Sx that she wanted removing.

It is part of her past history, probably not active anymore, the only weight I would give to that is, if in doubt between some remedies, use the one which is mostly related to the tubercular miasm, but only if anything else is almost equal.
