STITCHING PAINS and their meanings

Hi,
Can stitching or splinter-like pains in several places in the body, for several years, point to a lack of any substance in the body?
Is there other "meanings" to this kind of pains?

Shooting/stitching pains may have symbolic meaning, according to Mangialavori. From his seminar on Pains:

SHOOTING PAINS: when important, this sx can represent FEAR OF SUDDENNESS; idea of shooting gives impression that there is someone else who is responsible for this pain (darting, arrow, bullet, action of shooting) – you’re the victim; someone else is the shooter – suddenness + the idea of someone else who is out to punish/destroy you
idea of shooting strongly related to significant sense of guilt – think of an execution by firing squad – Lobelia, Mancinella, Paeonia all have very significant sense of GUILT; commonly shooting pains are related to decompensation that comes when it becomes difficult to cope with this sense of guilt – Lobelia feels responsible in some way for their disease because they did something very bad; they are unable to overcome simple mistakes in their lives – if they are responsible by chance for something serious, they can’t overcome it at all – e.g., case of dr. with infarct while driving car; he hit a woman who died; another case of man, drug-addicted, who infected his wife with HIV – you do something and even if you’re not directly responsible, you injure someone else

can see in very sensitive cases when they feel guilty for stepping on an ant – when these emotions aren’t so easily compensated, they can produce these kinds of sxs

Mangialavori has been doing a very interesting series of seminars, starting with the one on Pains, in which he explores different themes, concepts, and symptoms and how they manifest in different remedy. For example, one was on the stages/passages of life and remedies that are particularly appropriate to them.
I imagine he'll be publishing the series, as he did his series on materia medica. In the meantime, to get a sense of his approach, look at his latest book, Insecurity. As with all his publications, it's full of cases of "small" remedies, including a wonderful case of Magnetis polus australis.

I'm afraid I haven't finished my materia medica on that remedy yet, so have not incorporated information from Mangialavori's book. So many remedies to research, so little time...

The 'insecurity' of Mag pol Aust is to do with being abandoned or forsaken - a sense of dislocation theme that runs throughout the remedy. This in turn comes from a sense of lightness, the whole body feels as if levitating. Amazing, has anyone seen a human levitate for real?
