========
Dear Soroush, (copy to minutus list)
I remember your reference to Causticum as an example for a valid
substance
for making a remedy and completely agree. I do actually think
causticum is
probably KOH in strong water solution aka "potassium lye" but it is
controversial how "simple" it really is due to starting substances
the way
Hahnemann made it. It is happy with me, as is the vaccine I use. It
is one
vaccine with known symptoms it causes in healthy cats, all in the same
category seen in a single set of illness symptoms (even though it can be
caused by multiple different triggers).
To me that is appropriate for homeopathy.
I am not in favor of using this kind of remedy in general, other than
for
homeoprophlaxis, because it is important to always do what is BEST
for the
client. So I only use this where I deem it best for the client at the
time.
On my vethom-friends list (like minutus but for animals) over all its
years,
I think that happened once or twice. To clients it has occurred now
and then
for an isolated case - maybe once or twice a year? But it is a life
saver in
epidemics. (A handful of them over twelve years).
My post to everyone to whom I suggest it during infection of cat flu, is
accompanied by a 4 page list of how to use it and when not to use it.
(This
is always by email to someone at a distance with a cat who can die in
a day
without help). It says to use it for a short while, during which time
the
acute will either resolve (much like "arnica for a bruise" as first
aid) or
they will have time to repertorize a simillimum with help of a
homeopath, to
resolve it properly - then I suggest using the remedy again for
prevention
of recurrence.
What I would not do, is use a remedy made from a mixture of vaccines
that
was associated with vastly different diseases. (Like a mix of rabies
and
cat flu and leukaemia vaccines for example). To me that is not a simple
substance even if one can make a single remedy from it. There is no
LOGIC to
me. I have no good explanation for this except it "feels" incorrect
by Law
of Similars AND by Hahnemann's words where (is it Aph 173? - I have no
Organon with me
here) he advocates against a mix of substances that have to do with
*different* diseases. He may have been meaning mixtures of remedies
rather
than one remedy from a mixture but I do not do either. I do not like
to feel
I am "experimenting" on helpless animals.
I need to be sure:
* I can *predict* results.
* That the remedy is "logical" by all my knowledge in different areas
(homeopathy AND other areas).
* That those predicted results fit the Law of Similars. (This is to me
paramount).
* That there is nothing better than I can devise in the circumstances.
The list discussion has been to me a bit like arguing about the
angle of
attack in a mosquito bite, while the elephant in question is dying of
cancer.
Mostly I work in immune compromise cases, cancer, FIP, Leukaemia,
AIDS etc.
Cases of Cat flu happen in practically all cats, so are very common
as well
as life threatening, and I try to educate on homeoprophylaxis. But it
is a
very tiny part of my work which is mostly in severe chronic disease,
mostly
cases which vets have declared incurable and terminal. (cf My article
in Mar
2008 Hpathy on my FIP work).
Having my actual approach to homeopathy in general, and with URI 30C
(and
now with Bordetella) misrepresented to be what it is not, has been
frustrating to me beyond measure.
It is not bothersome to me if people call what I do non-homeopathic
or any
other name. It is only bothersome that they misrepresent me to do things
that I never would do. A recent post is typical - it takes my words
and says
- Oh that means you would do thus and so (and invents some
unacceptable idea
that is then attributed to me) , and adds - then that means you also
would
do this (something even more ugly that she invents) , and so on.
I just want to be seen for who I am, and not as others may imagine.
Namaste,
Irene

Dear Irene
I hope and pray you will not allow others to judge you by their measure.
You do what is best for your patients and keep fine tuning your methods and keep gathering information over the results of what you do.
No matter how much you explain , it will not satisfy some on this list and I think you do not need their good opinion.

Actually we all make important judgements all the time. As Souroush is often asking - who would you send your nearest and dearest to, how would you select the best homeopath for your family (including pets of course).
Asking questions is the best way - we all have our measures, including you (as you are showing here).

Yes,
I do make judgments and I do judge you.
