Considered to be reasonably mad and mystic :-) but it was the 17th C england and that has to be taken into consideration. If you can wade your way through his mosaic philosophy then good for you. To do what he did he must have had an inkling of what was to follow, maybe, who knows - he's way out of my comfort zone but you might have settled on an fascinating research project.

The writings of Fludd were instrumental in Crompton-Burnett developing Baccilinum, he describes it fully in his book about the cure of phtisis, as TB was known then.

My understanding from the French authors is that diathesis would be more like today's "syndrome": rheumatic diathesis, allergic diathesis, etc,..... Covering a reactive mode in one system or through one system with dominant symptoms and signs as expression.
Miasm would be the more deeper "imbalance" with a more variable form of expression.
That is my personal view.

JC Ravallard has send me those French texts that are actually available on Homeoint.org
I have translated them, not with total precision though............let me know if a sentence is not clear, always a problem in translation, it seems obvious to the translator.

Dear Rik,

Just pointing out that a diatheses dyscrasia or syndrome does not help in finding the underlying dynamic disease. This was mentioned in this thread. If you take a look at other threads you will find it common that the posters will be talking about other than the original thread .

As for Pseudo Psoric or Tubercular miasm. the reason it was developed is for the same reason for the other miasms in that it seemed to be a disease group with recognisable characteristics and was a common disease in the past and I might add, has made a come back in the past 10 years.

Looking at it from SH's chronic disease theory and the word miasm means infectious diseases, we may discover that the tubercular miasm is a weakening of the immune system caused by direct or inherited viral miasms.

The word viral miasms comes from Ardavan.

Dear Joe

I do not know French but I think the word antic should be antique.
