Thanks for you input Tanya,
I'll look into the nat mur and I may have some collidal silver around here. You can see the gums are inflamed but you can't get her mouth open much more than that. She is over it and I do mean over it. She has so much saliva and mucus/phlegm that is just pouring out in enormous amount at all times that I am forever trying to keep her clean so that it doesn't increase more infection outside of her mouth as well. Anymore trying to get near her mouth is just irritating her more, though I won't ignore her either.
I have used the lady from animal echoes per your suggestion with my last cat, sorry to hear she passed.
Thanks for you suggestions

Seeking help with cat
Re: Seeking help with cat
Hi Shannon,
Thanks for you input. Yes, she was absolutely fine until the episode Thursday morning, nothing abnormal going on. As far as rabies, she is an indoor cat ... and wouldn't that have shown up on the blood work? The vet did give her a iv antibiotic Thursday when she was there, then sent her home with a liquid antibiotic for me to give her. I can only assume that became the infection is so enormous he needs it in her system before going in?

Re: Seeking help with cat
it may not be a poison directly, but the toxic build up in her body
coupled with decreased liver function that allowed toxins to increase
to a level that has caused a visible reaction. if the toxins traveled into
the brain, then blood work might not show it. i am pretty convinced that
is what happened to my poor kitty when she was 17 yrs. that is when
she had a seizure.
but don't be afraid to rep her case as you would a person. nat mur
worked for my cat, but may not be the remedy for yours. you know
about individualization. don't let your worry overtake you.

If there is a lot of saliva, is it worth trying Merc.Sol? It's the No 1 remedy for mouth ulcers and gingivitis.

Re: Seeking help with cat
I have been using Merc. Sol 6c, seems the most fitting, since yesterday. Is there any cautions I should be aware of? Her procedure is tomorrow morning, I know with arnica you shouldn't use before surgery, is there anything like that with the Merc. Sol?
Thanks to everyone for sharing their thoughts,

Hopefully the dose is in water making repetition more safe, alter the succussions each dose and repeat according to progress and the need. The only 'shouldn't' with any remedy (as far as choosing the most indicated rx) is not to give it if it isn't indicated.
How is the case progressing and can you say why you chose Merc Sol. Good luck.

Re: Seeking help with cat
I would just say to keep paying attention to her (obviously), and note whether the remedy appears to be helping (and don't keep giving it for very long *unless* you see signs that it is helping), and notice if any new symptoms arise--which could mean either that she's had enough or too much merc., and/or that it's time for a change in the remedy. But that's just standard, not particular to mercury...
