Irene, please do give us the similars you are working with to choose these rx. I don't need rx sx pictures as I am familiar with these rx. You have said this choice of so many rx is preventative but prophylaxis also requires similars to match the epidemic however small or large it might be, say in a school, a family, or larger communities. To be successful with prevention you still need similars.
There are countless rx to prevent the mixture of sx you suggest here so I am interested in why these 4. Perhaps previously when bitten by a cat you jumped in ice water; then made mistakes in writing; then become morose and solicitous and finally talked too much? That would be something to go on.

I think it's accepted and generally noted that prophylaxis requires
less specificity than does after-the-fact prescribing?

It's debatable. It's true that the other end of the scale applies in
that Prophylaxis can actually effectively use identicals as opposed
to similars. So for example to prevent parvo in puppies, a remedy
made from parvo will work just fine - but do not try to medicate an
actual case of parvo with that, it is too identical - needs to be
similar NOT identical.
Prevention - namely building resistance to a set of symptoms - can be
done with any remedy. I'd not use it unnecessarily but for example if
you want to prevent the deadly uterine infections of breeding
carnivores with long double horns of uterus - life threatening when
infected - you can use Pyrogenium 200C as homeoprophylaxis. You can
use the same remedy instead of antibiotics before dental work in cats
and dogs. (Ethical vets will not do dental cleaning etc without
antibiotics due to the danger to the heart when plaque enters the
bloodstream, as it always does in those cleanings. Explaining that
homeopathic "equivalent" has been used is helpful.)
But the other direction - less specific is a matter of whether it is
still similar enough.
The principle is that the remedy taken will build resistance to the
symptoms of the remedy (same principle as in a proving, which will
strengthen health of the prover).

it works the way Hahnemann says.
As in a proving, the prover gets more robust, and more resistant to
disease.
Homeoprophylaxis uses the SAME principle.
It is not the principle of disease cure with simillimum but the one
of robust health when taking a remedy while healthy, and wehich
causes resistance to disease (including SAME disease).
Two equally important but separate principles developed by Hahnemnan.
Not the point.
Pyrogen prevents the pyometra (of any kind).
You are looking for healthy-individual homeoprophylaxis remedies to
be similar to something unhealthy - it is a confusion as there is
nothing unhealthy when they are taken any more than there is in a
proving.
SO there is no need for a proving or prophylaxis remedy taken in
health to be similar to anything at all. The robust health from the
homeoprophylaxis occurs anyway - in resistance to any symptoms of the
homeoprophylaxis remedy and to ANY similar symptom set.
There is lots of work on this (Isaac Golden in humans and countless
veterinary homeopaths) to show this potential extension of the
principle Hahnemann describes after a proving - the additional robust
health and disease resistance caused in any proving.
The only difference between the proving and homeoprophylaxis is that
the latter does not use enough doses to induce proving symptoms, just
enough to give the increased health and disease resistance as
Hahnemnn describes. (I quoted the relevsnt Aph in an earlier email)
It's an illogical conclusion but try it if you like:-)
Personally, I prefer to use the minimum of homeoprophylaxis - only
where not doing it is more risky than doing it:-)

Re: Cat bite first aid - was The campaign against spring fever, and a
Homeopathy doesn't use identicals - if you use it that is for you but it isn't homeopathy. They say Aspirin works, is that homeopathy.
Provers have to have relative good health to take part in a proving, all good provers are like this, one should never use anyone in a proving that doesn't have good health, so what you are saying is also irrelevant.
You have a misleading notion of prophylaxis - you like quotes, why not show where Hahnemann supports what you are saying - to give prophylaxis without sx similarity within the community.
Pyrogen will only cure where Pyrogen sx are exhibited - remember similars? To give routinely is also misleading and downright stupid really.
You mentioned circles?

[Luise]
Hi Luise,
It is just that there are so many things one COULD use
homeoprophylaxis for, that I feel like some common sense is needed.
For example I know what cat illnesses my cats might be exposed to,
and what breeding conditions they may be involved in, and I know
which of the cats is 3 or more generations away from vaccines - and I
know what illnesses are lethal./
So based on all that - I do not use remedies against illnesses that
cats can only get out of doors, as mine are all-indoor;
nor for any diseases that are not known in this area.
For my cats not vaccinated for 3 or more generations, the tendency
to the common feline diseases (of which cat flu is the most common)
is not strong and if they get the illness a dose or two of remedy at
the time will halt it.
However I do always use homeoprophylaxis of at least some things
before vet visits, on show days, before plane travel, and for all
kittens to be sold or shipped to new homes - due to the much higher
risk then of acute and dangerous infecetions.
The exception in my place is Bordetella bronchiseptica. It may be
endemic in my house after a major outbreak a few years back, and it
is lethal in cats - a silent killer. It has no symptoms other than
the cat sleeping more than usual, till suddenly overnight it may drop
dead with no real warning.
SO that is too high risk not to use prophylaxis. (I lost an entire
littler of kittens to this scourge once. Never again.)
Cats who are too close to vaccinated ones do get prophylaxis of
common feline illnesses including cat flu - for 2 and a half years,
some remedy every 6 months.
However my unbreakable rule is to always keep appropriate remedies
for cat illness handy. SO for example I can use URI 30C the same day
a cat starts sneezing - before the illness has developed enough to
need a more differentiated remedy.
I keep more remedies on hand than I feel the need to use for
prophylaxis.
For clients: Each client has a different situation with different
risks. A few remedies are used often, but the rest - for example
prevention of tick borne diseases - apply only in areas where the
problem is relevant and the animal goes outdoors.
So basically one uses whatever has a point to doing it in the
circumstances/environment.
