Diseased Potato and Sol-t-ae

I am reading Fran Treuherz's book on Homeopathy in the Irish Potato Famine.

Benoit Mure gave us our potentised diseased potato (Solanum tuberosum aegrotans) during that period and suggested that it may be useful as a prophylactic if applied to new potato "seeds" prior to planting.

Does anyone know if this was done then or since?

Fran I did know someone who did this to try and counteract blight, but I do not have any way of contacting them now. But it didn't help is all I can remember often thought about giving it a go myself but don't grow maincrop spuds anymore.
