Mixopathy in discussion was definition....

Hi List,

Actuall we all (myself included) have been practicing mixopathy in
this discussion.

There were mixed tow quite separate issues:

1) Proper difinition of homeopathy

2) What influence will ANY definition of homeopathy have on the
political decisions.

It is 2) that is important at present.

My own opinion is that the effect would be zero,zero.

Politicians want to know: does it work, can it harm, where insurance
is involved: how much does it cost. In addition: how will any decision
I make affect my career - will it bring votes.

Anyway: In the European Union, where this has been worked on, it has
not been homeopathy (of whatever definition) fighting but CAM
(Complementary Alternative Medicine), of which homeopathy is only a
part and pure homeopathy perhaps in the range of 1 - 5 percent. It
seems that the various alternative medicine groups have been
cooperating pretty well - which is good. Bad is that the members of
the CAM group are all MD's. So one of the dangers is that only MD'S
will be allowed to practice - which has been the case in many (most?)
European countries anyway.

While this will be pretty bad for the Non-MD's in Europe, it will over
here not neessarily mean the end of "classical" homeopathy, since
quite a few MD's do practice it. Same for acupuncture,
chiropractics...

I don't know about non-European countries.
